  • Publication number: 20230189869
Abstract: Traditional methods of hash production are very labor intensive, and the skills of the individual play a key role in defining the quality of the finished product. Hash production requires multiple steps and lacks automation, and thus, it is not easily scaled and very costly for commercial production. The present disclosure relates to hashish product comprising a cohesive mass of isolated cannabis trichomes and having substantially uniform characteristics and to a process of making same. The process comprises providing isolated cannabis trichomes; mixing the isolated cannabis trichomes under conditions sufficient to obtain a substantially homogeneous resinous mixture; and retrieving at least a portion of the mixture through an extrusion die to obtain the hash product.

  • Publication number: 20040013726
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel form of cross-linked high amylose starch and processes for its manufacture. Such cross-linked high amylose starch is useful as an excipient in a controlled-release pharmaceutical formulation when compressed with pharmaceutical agent(s) in a tablet. Such cross-linked high amylose starch is prepared by (a) cross-linking and chemical modification of high amylose starch, (b) gelatinization, and (c) drying to obtain a powder of said controlled release excipient. In a preferred embodiment, such cross-linked high amylose starch is prepared in the following steps: (1) granular cross-linking and additional chemical modification (e.g., hydroxypropylation) of high-amylose starch; (2) thermal gelatinization of the starch from step (1); and (3) drying the starch from step (2) to yield a powder capable of being used as a controlled release excipient.

  • Patent number: 5885615
Abstract: Disclosed is a pharmaceutical controlled release tablet containing an active ingredient in combination with a carrier made of cross-linked amylose in which hydroxymethylpropylcellulose (HPMC) with a viscosity higher than or equal to 4000 cps is added as an adjuvant. The addition of HPMC to the tablet permits to control the effect of enzymes, and more particular alpha-amylase present in the intestinal medium, on the cross-linked amylose used as a carrier, and thus to reduce the dependence of the kinetics of release upon the concentration of enzymes present in the medium.
