  • Patent number: 8398181
Abstract: This invention generally relates to the configuration of the inner surface of a traction band which increases the protection of the embedded reinforcing elements without reducing the flexibility of the band or increasing the generation of heat. The outer surface of the band generally comprises a plurality traction lugs while the inner surface generally comprises a plurality of drive and/or guide lugs. According to the present invention, each group of traction lugs, drive lugs and guide lugs, which are generally laterally aligned, defines generally non-flexible lug areas and each of these lug areas are separated by flexible and generally lug-less hinge areas. The lug areas, on the inner surface thereof, further comprise projections located between the drive lugs and the guide lugs and along the wheel paths defined therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20120049618
Abstract: A segmented track made of a plurality of elastomeric track segments is provided. Each track segment is made of reinforced elastomeric material and is provided, at each end thereof, with a joint element adapted to be connected to the joint element of adjacent track segments. Each track segment comprises longitudinally extending reinforcing elements which are embedded into the elastomeric material and which are extending between and coupled to both joint elements.

  • Patent number: 6793296
Abstract: This invention relates to an endless traction band that is used to propel tracked vehicles and, more particularly, to an improved traction band made from a polymer adapted to travel over a drive sprocket, a plurality of guide wheels and a tension wheel. The inner surface of the endless traction band includes a different lug configuration which allows for the endless traction band to be installed more efficiently on a tracked vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20040070274
Abstract: This invention relates to an endless traction band that is used to propel tracked vehicles [i.e., vehicles which use endless traction bands rather than tires to contact the terrain over which they are driven, e.g., tractors, tanks, bulldozers, etc.] and, more particularly, to an improved traction band made from a polymer adapted to travel over a drive sprocket, a plurality of guide wheels and a tension wheel. The inner surface of the endless traction band comprises a different lug configuration which allows for the endless traction band to be installed more efficiently on a tracked vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20040016578
Abstract: This invention relates to vehicles equipped with rubber tires used to drive over diverse types of terrain and, more particularly, to a tire track which consists in one or more rubber track segments, attached with a joint assembly and designed to accommodate any types of wheel diameter, thickness and ground surface, when installed on top of rubber tires. Each rubber track segment is made from a profiled outside layer and an inner layer comprising side guides to hold the track on the tire. Each segment is linked with the next one by a joint assembly using links and fastening means to ensure complete covering of the tires periphery.
