  • Publication number: 20020113480
Abstract: A seat device comprises a base and a seat itself comprising a back and a seat proper. The back comprises a bottom portion and a top portion pivotally mounted on the bottom portion via a first locking mechanism. The bottom portion of the back is pivotally mounted on the base via a second locking mechanism. Both locking mechanisms can be unlocked simultaneously so as to allow the top portion to be retracted into the bottom portion within a cavity provided in the base.

  • Patent number: 5121964
Abstract: This sitting unit comprises a central part (5) articulated on the front edge of the sitting unit and thus raisable forwards, a receptacle (7) designed to receive this central part (5) when it is turned down into the sitting unit, and a device (8, 8a, 12) for locking and retaining in the raised position the central part, to the rear face of which a child's seat can be attached. This arrangement increases the safety of the child in the event of a front collision of the vehicle because the child's seat faces rearwards, instead of facing forwards, so that, in the event of a collision, the child is already steadied in the seat and does not suffer the injuries caused by the belts which are conventionally used.

  • Patent number: 4973032
Abstract: The member is intended to connect the zigzag tensioning wires mounted parallel to each other in a frame reinforcing a seat cushion. It comprises a flat bar (12) provided at regular intervals with gripping lugs (14) pressing against the bar a straight portion of the wire which is parallel to this bar. Side walls (16, 17) of the bar comprise spaced notches for receiving and fixing portions (4b) of the wire substantially perpendicular to the bar. Since the bar has a lug gripping each wire, the latter are kept at a precise distance from each other and the cushion is locally tensioned.

  • Patent number: 4971395
Abstract: The seat comprises a cushion foldable about its front edge and two side-by-side backrests. The two backrests (1 and 2) are carried by a horizontal rod (16) connected by an articulated link (18) to a fixed support (20). One of the backrests (2) is connected in its lower part to a rotative element (28) rotatable about the pivot axis of the horizontal rod. The other backrest (1) is free to pivot about the rod so that it may be folded over alone onto the cushion of the seat by this pivoting while it is capable of being folded over with the other backrest (2) onto the floor by pivoting therewith about the pivot axis X--X of the rod carrying the backrests.

  • Patent number: 4938529
Abstract: The seat cushion and/or the backrest of the seat comprising an elastic layer (4) carried by a frame and provided with two lateral projecting wings (8) in which an inverted U-shaped driving rod (14) is connected to the upper part of one of the wings and is pivotally mounted relative to the frame (2). This rod is extended at one of its ends by a connecting lever bent around the frame element and connected to a control cable controlling its pivoting fixed to the door (38) of the vehicle. In this way, this door exerts a pull on the cable which causes the rod (14) to pivot and thereby turns the wing (8) outwardly and clears the access to the seat.

  • Patent number: 4930736
Abstract: A locking bolt (14) is slidably mounted in the external element (1) of the slide. It has side teeth (16) cooperating with holes in this external element and, at its end removed from these teeth, a hole (28) for receiving an actuating pin (32) which also passes through the internal element (2) of the slide. The cross-section of the pin (32) complements the hole of the bolt such that rotation of the pin about itself causes locking. The pin is movable axially and may be disengaged from the bolt so as to allow momentary relative axial displacement of the internal element and return into the previous position indicated by the bolt.

  • Patent number: 4927210
Abstract: A sitting-surface frame (10) and a backframe (1) are connected to one another, on each side of the seat, at two mutually spaced points, one comprising a tilting axle (34) and the other a folding-down axle (8). Each lateral branch (11) of the backframe has a serrated slot (4) engaged with a folding-down axle (8) fixed to the sitting surface and carries a tilting axle (34). The axle (34) is integral with a releasing lever (32) retained on the end of the sitting surface. The pivoting of the lever in one direction frees the tilting axle and allows the back to be folded down about the axle (8), while in the other direction it lifts the back, disengages the serrations (6) of the slot and makes it possible to change the inclination of the back.
