    Abstract: A system and a method for dynamic establishment of telepresence conferences using standard protocol, such as SIP, for communications are provided. The method provides for negotiation of profiles of each location participating at the telepresence conference. The profiles provide information on the connectivity, positioning and configuration of the audiovisual elements, number of participating sites and number of participants at each location. These profiles are derived from the set of sites participating into the telepresence conference and their capabilities which are acquired through a dynamic scheme during the telepresence conference initiation.
