  • Patent number: 7327872
Abstract: An imaging system for use in a medical intervention procedure is disclosed. A first image acquisition system of a first modality employing a catheter at an anatomical region of a patient is configured to produce a first image of the anatomical region using fluoroscopy, the first image comprising a set of fluoroscopy projection images. A second image acquisition system of a second different modality is configured to generate a 3D model of the anatomical region. An anatomical reference system is common to both the first and second image acquisition systems. A processing circuit is configured to process executable instructions for registering the 3D model with the fluoroscopy image in response to the common reference system and discernible parameters associated with the catheter in both the first and second image acquisition systems.

  • Patent number: 7123682
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a set of functional parameters using a fluoroscopic radiography apparatus of the type comprising an X-ray source, a detector or recorder of the radiation facing the source, the source and the detector or recorder being installed on a mobile support capable of movement with respect to a table placed between the source and the detector or recorder on which a patient with a region of interest to be X-rayed will be placed. The method comprises a) movement of the support following a given movement with respect to the table, repeated during a given time; b) acquisition by the detector or recorder of a series of images of the region of interest during movement of the support with respect to the table; c) reconstitution of a series of three-dimensional models of the region of interest, starting from a series of acquired images; and d) determination of all functional parameters.

Abstract: An imaging system for use in a medical intervention procedure is disclosed. A first image acquisition system is configured to produce a fluoroscopy image of an anatomical region. A second image acquisition system is configured to produce a 3D model of the anatomical region. An interventional tracking system, which includes a position indicator, is configured to maneuver within the anatomical region. A first anatomical reference system is common to both the first and the second image acquisition systems, and a second anatomical reference system is common to both the first image acquisition system and the interventional tracking system.

  • Publication number: 20030128816
Abstract: A system comprising a plurality of apparatus, each equipped with at least one central unit including an internal clock, the internal clocks being synchronized. At least two of the apparatus receive signals and synchronize their respective internal clock with the signals. The signals can be a radio signal that can be from a satellite, such as a global positioning system. The apparatus may be an imaging apparatus or other devices used in medical technology.

  • Patent number: 6173031
Abstract: A multislice detector module producing an alterable quantity of slices and slice resolutions. In one embodiment, the detector module includes a plurality of photodiodes arranged in an array of rows and columns, a switch apparatus electrically coupled to photodiode output signals, and a decoder. The decoder is configured to enable or prevent each photodiode from being transmitted through the switch apparatus. The configuration of the decoder determines how many slices of data are transmitted and the resolution of each slice.

  • Patent number: 5473654
Abstract: An x-ray CT system acquires a series of views during a scan and reconstructs a slice image by backprojecting the filtered projection data from each acquired view. Backprojection is facilitated by employing a Cordic processor that produces the angle (.gamma.) and distance (L) of each pixel location from the x-ray source. The angle (.gamma.) selects the proper value from the filtered projection data, and this value is divided by the square of the distance (L) to arrive at a value used to update the slice image pixel value.
