Patent number: 10568637Abstract: A sagittal surgical saw blade consisting of a planar body having side edges, a proximal end for attachment to an oscillatory power device and a distal end defining a cutting head carrying distally extending spaced apart teeth. The teeth are configured to provide a kerf wider than the thickness of the cutting head. A large chip collection void is formed in the cutting head and the sides of the body define left and right chip collection and evacuation areas.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2016Date of Patent: February 25, 2020Inventors: Franc Koljaka, Vasiliy Abramov

Patent number: 10201890Abstract: A method to produce a sintered metal carbide article containing diamond particles throughout said article is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method involves creating a mixture of metal carbide (MC) particles, metallic binder (MB) particles and coated diamond (D) particles is compacted into a desired shape and then heated at a temperature below the graphitization temperature of the D particles to produce an under sintered MC-MB-D article which is then rapidly heated in an induction heating device to surprisingly produce a sintered MC-MB-D article containing diamond particles throughout the article. The MC-MB-D article exhibits excellent drilling/cutting capacity and surprisingly high impact resistance. One useful MC-B-D article made according to the disclosed invention is a tungsten carbide-cobalt (WC—Co) article containing diamonds WC—Co-D throughout the article.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2015Date of Patent: February 12, 2019Assignee: TKW, LLCInventor: Franc Koljaka

Publication number: 20160296241Abstract: A surgical oscillating saw blade comprises a drive transmission proximal end, a planer midsection defining an upper and lower surface and a distal cutting edge carrying a plurality of teeth. The teeth are triangularly shaped to define a base, adjacent edges and an apex or tip. The teeth are configured by being bent inwardly or outwardly so that a minimum of tooth and blade surface is in contact with bone during a cutting procedure. The teeth are bent sufficiently to provide a kerf that is greater than the thickness of the blade.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 7, 2015Publication date: October 13, 2016Inventors: Franc Koljaka, Vasiliy Abramov, David Phelps, Dylan Phelps

Publication number: 20160228130Abstract: A surgical drill bit is formed by a cylindrical body that comprises a distal fluted drill section, a fluted midsection and a proximal drive transmission shank. The distal end of the drill section forms the drill point of the surgical bit and comprises at least two opposed cutting edges that extend from the tip of the drill point to the leading edge of a land defined by the outer surface of a respective drill point flute. The outside diameter of the midsection is less than the outside diameter of the drill section. In cross section the flute consists of a land radially extending from an enlarged central web. A small conical tip is concentrically located on the drill point.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2015Publication date: August 11, 2016Applicant: CUTTING EDGE MEDICAL LLCInventors: Franc Koljaka, David Y Phelps

Patent number: 8215415Abstract: A tool bit for a chisel or a hammer drill, in particular, a insertable chisel or insertable drill for power-driven drill and chisel hammers, has an insertion end, with a chisel shank or drill shank, and a chisel head or drill shank located opposite the insertion end. The diameter of the shank increases in the direction of the chisel head at least once from a first, small diameter to a second, large diameter and decreases again from this to a small diameter or forms at least one bead.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2002Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignees: Hawera Probst GmbH, Aresi S.P.A.Inventors: Marco Lang, Franc Koljaka, Friedmar Dresig, Thomas Bernhardt

Patent number: 7363922Abstract: The invention relates to a flat chisel, in particular an insertion chisel for power-driven drill and chisel hammers for working stone, having a chisel head which has a main tip disposed transversely to a chisel longitudinal axis, a front and rear striking surface, and at least one side face connecting the striking faces. In this case, a side face designed as a side lip is provided.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2002Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignees: Hawera Probst GmbH, Aresi S.p.A.Inventors: Marco Lang, Stefano Monzani, Franc Koljaka
