  • Patent number: 4689185
Abstract: A priming method for rimfire cartridges is disclosed in which a propellant solution is disposed adjacent a centrifugally located primer material in a rimfire cartridge. The solvent is then evaporated to leave a propellant film near the primer material in order to provide slower, more uniform ignition to thereby allow use of propellant powders which would otherwise be too fast or too sensitive.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 25, 1986
Date of Patent: August 25, 1987
    Assignee: Olin Corporation
Inventors: Frances G. Lopata, George C. Mei
  • Patent number: 4674409
Abstract: This invention relates to non-toxic, non-corrosive, lead-free rimfire ammunition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 2, 1986
Date of Patent: June 23, 1987
    Assignee: Olin Corporation
Inventors: Frances G. Lopata, George C. Mei
  • Patent number: 4465883
Abstract: A bullet lubricant is disclosed which includes a miscible amount of low molecular weight polyethylene polymer or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers in a wax base. The lubricant has a melting point in excess of 180.degree. F. The lubricant is applied by first heating a bullet and the mix to a pre-determined temperature then coating the bullet and cooling the bullet to allow the lubricant to solidify.
