Abstract: A charge/discharge device composed of low cost passive component, which allows charge/discharge a pack of supercapacitors for automotive applications without any risk for operators and without danger of damaging neighboring devices, materials and supercapacitors is disclosed. It contains an inner electric charge line connected to a supply terminal of the device; an inner electric ground discharge line connected to a ground terminal of the device; an inner electric output line connected to an output terminal of the device; an on-off-on toggle switch, and a passive bipolar resistive circuit having an overall resistance comprised between 0.1 Ohms and 10 Ohms and inserted in the inner electric output line, having a power resistor installed on a heat sink.
