  • Patent number: 6932245
Abstract: A dispensing canister and method for reducing dose fluctuation and improving evacuation in the dispensing of a pulverulent material such as beverage-forming or food-forming powder. The dispensing canister has a reservoir having an inlet and an outlet and defining a volume for retaining the pulverulent material therein, a dosing member operatively associated with the reservoir outlet for receiving and dispensing the pulverulent material; and an agitator wheel located in the reservoir and arranged to periodically rotate to assist in dislodging pulverulent material in the reservoir so that it can move to the dosing member. The agitator wheel preferably includes agitating members for transversing a significant portion of the volume of the reservoir to contact and dislodge pulverulent material therein.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 5, 2003

    Assignee: Nestec S.A.
Inventors: Constance L. Whippie, Gerhard Ufheil, Francesco G. Chiarella, Juan J. Gonzalez

  • Patent number: 5371320
Abstract: A spacer-damper for maintaining the spacing between electrical transmission conductors or the like and for damping any vibratory motion of such conductors includes a rigid spacer in the form of a multi-sided frame having at least two spherical mounts for conductor clamps. The clamps are connected to the spherical mounts, but separated therefrom by a resilient damping covering on the spherical mounts. Indentations on the spherical mounts and on the clamps mate with protrusions on inner and outer surfaces of the resilient damping covering to inhibit relative movement therebetween. Longitudinal, transverse and vertical vibrations in the conductors held by the clamps are damped by shear forces which arise within the resilient damping material, longitudinal vibrations being parallel to the ground axially along the length of the conductors, transverse vibrations being parallel to the ground but perpendicular to the conductors, and vertical vibrations being perpendicular to the ground.
