  • Publication number: 20230155504
Abstract: A power converter circuit included in a computer system that regulated a power supply voltage used by other circuits in the computer system. The power converter includes a primary control circuit that selectively activates multiple phase circuits coupled to respective driver circuits, which are coupled to a power supply node via respective inductors. Some of the driver circuits are located on a separate integrated circuit from the primary control circuit and the multiple phase circuits.

  • Patent number: 7609036
Abstract: A control device for a switching converter having an input terminal, an output terminal, a semi-bridge of a first and second transistor coupled between the input terminal and a reference voltage, includes a first circuit for driving the first transistor and a second circuit for driving the second transistor. The converter further includes a bootstrap circuit for powering the first drive circuit. The bootstrap circuit includes a capacitor coupled between a supply voltage and the common terminal of the first and second transistors. The control device acts upon the second transistor to assure the charging of the capacitor.

  • Patent number: 7592788
Abstract: A control device of a switching converter having an input terminal, an output terminal and a semi-bridge of a first and second transistor coupled between the input terminal and a reference voltage, includes a first circuit for detecting a signal representative of the signal on the converter output terminal and able to compare it with a reference signal and to emit a first signal in response to the comparison. The control device drives the first and second transistors based on the first signal and includes a protection circuit to detect the presence of overcurrents in the semi-bridge and acting upon the first and second transistors in response to the detection. The control device includes a second circuit for acting upon the first circuit in order to level the value of the first signal after the triggering of the protection circuit.
