  • Publication number: 20240243465
Abstract: An antenna device for automotive radar applications including an antenna assembly which comprises a front face in which at least one antenna aperture is arranged, configured to receive an incoming signal in form of primary rays impacting in the at least one antenna aperture. The front face of the antenna assembly further includes adjacent to the at least one antenna aperture scattering elements by which primary rays, impacting an area of the scattering elements, are at least partially reflected by the scattering elements and thereby separated into first secondary rays and second secondary rays, such that the first secondary rays and the second secondary rays cancel out each other at least partially by interference.

  • Publication number: 20240235038
Abstract: A waveguide antenna with an antenna proximal side and an antenna distal side. A number of waveguide openings for transmitting and/or receiving electromagnetic signals to and/or from an environmental space is arranged at the antenna distal side. The waveguide antenna includes an antenna interface structure that includes interface waveguide apertures arranged in an interface carrying surface that extends transverse to a normal axis. Each interface waveguide aperture is coupled with at least one associated waveguide opening such that the respective interface waveguide aperture and the associated waveguide opening(s) are offset with respect to each other transverse to the normal axis. Each interface waveguide aperture and at least one coupled waveguide opening are configured for transmitting and/or receiving electromagnetic signals with respective polarizations rotated against each other.

  • Publication number: 20230420857
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to an antenna device (1) comprising a printed circuit board (2) and a thereon arranged electronic component (3). The antenna device (1) comprises at least two individual antenna elements (12) which are interconnected to the electronic component (3) configured to transmit and receive a signal. The antenna elements (12) each comprise at least one waveguide channel (9) interconnecting in the antenna assembly (6). A first waveguide aperture (10) is arranged at a back face (16) of the antenna assembly (6). Said first waveguide aperture (10) is interconnected to the electronic component (3) and configured to transmit and/or receive a signal. A second waveguide aperture (11) is arranged at a front face (17) of the waveguide assembly (6) and is also configured to transmit and/or receive a signal.

  • Patent number: 10141631
Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with wireless circuitry. The wireless circuitry may include an antenna. The electronic device may have a housing in which control circuitry and radio-frequency transceiver circuitry is mounted. The transceiver circuitry may be used to transmit and receive radio-frequency signals with the antenna. The housing may have a housing wall with a locally thinned portion aligned with the antenna. The antenna may have a sheet metal layer attached to a plastic cavity with a layer of adhesive. Recesses in a printed circuit may receive prongs formed from a sheet metal layer. The plastic carrier may have cavities separated by ribs. The sheet metal layer may form a planar inverted-F antenna resonating element, a ground plane, a return path between the resonating element and ground plane, and a feed path that extends along one of the ribs and into an opening in the printed circuit.
