  • Patent number: 5364254
Abstract: A die for co-extruding structural shapes is provided with a central cylindrical duct through which the molten polymeric material destined to constitute the central core of the structural shape flows, and a conical gap, coaxial with the central duct, into which the polymeric coating material is fed which will constitute the outer skin of the structural shape.

  • Patent number: 5246115
Abstract: A process is taught for separating heterogeneous plastic material into homogeneous fractions, which comprises:a. feeding the plastic material in a triturated form to a first water-containing separation tank to separate the high specific weight products from the low specific weight products;b. recovering the mixture of high specific weight products from the bottom of said first separation tank and drying them in a first drier;c. treating the resulting mixture with a chemical agent capable of swelling/modifying the plastic materials which are sensible to said chemical agent; andd. drying the products so treated and feeding them to a second separation tank, in which the nonswollen/nonmodified plastic material precipitates while the remaining material, maintained on the surface, is discharged.

  • Patent number: 5007688
Abstract: A mobile intensive care unit for the reception of devices and instruments, which are arranged in various sections of a frame, is improved so that an ergonomically coordinated arrangement of the devices is possible, allowing for a combined use and control from an operating level for the parameters to be set and controlled, and also allowing for uninhibited access to the various sections. For this purpose the sections, which are inclined away from the vertical plane at several different angles, are superimposed in connected levels; in an upper section, a middle section, and a lower section for the reception and use of the devices.

  • Patent number: 4788965
Abstract: An incubator has a transparent covering hood having at least one side wall on which two flaps are mounted for closing access openings formed in the side wall. The flaps are each provided with a hinge and closure element. The flaps and access openings are so configured that the maximum possible freedom of movement is provided for the person treating the patient while at the same time the smallest possible outlet area is attained to prevent heat and oxygen losses from within the incubator to the ambient. For this purpose, the access openings are configured to be elongated and so that their respective longitudinal axes conjointly define an upwardly facing obtuse angle. To improve visibility for observing the premature infant and to improve ergonomically correct actuation of the operating elements, both the hinge and the closure element are located together on one side of the flap.

  • Patent number: 4530650
Abstract: An apparatus for sizing extruded plastics sections is proposed in which, in order to increase the heat transfer capacity between the hot plastics mass of the section and a cooling vehicle in a reduced space and to allow high production rates, there is interposed between metal block-type sizing gauges a cooling tank to be traversed by the section to be cooled between one sizing gauge portion and a subsequent sizing gauge portion. In this tank, which can also be placed under vacuum, the section is subjected to the action of a cooling fluid such as water or air which acts directly on its outer walls.
