  • Patent number: 6701696
Abstract: A packaging machine using a heat-shrinkable film comprises a frame (14, 16) for peripheral sealing of a film (19) segment and a tunnel (21) disposed alongside the frame, in which means (27) for air circulation is arranged, which air is heated by electrical heating elements (28) for shrinkage of the sealed film which is introduced into the tunnel. The machine comprises means (34) for detecting a condition associable with the presence in the machine of a product wrapped in a film to be shrunk. This detecting means (34) upon detection of said condition produces a signal (33) for temporary actuation of the hot-air circulation means (27).

  • Publication number: 20030115839
Abstract: A device and a system are disclosed that are adapted to perform a process for automatically continuously packaging products (4) through heat-sealed plastic films (2) comprising the steps of: inserting and supplying the products (4) downstream in a timed way and along a horizontal direction; applying a plastic film (2) to the products (4); heat-sealing a first end of each one of the products (4) and simultaneously advancing each one of the products (4) horizontally; heat-sealing a second end of each one of the products (4) and simultaneously advancing each one of the products (4) horizontally; and collecting and unloading the heat-sealed products (4). In particular, the device (1) is equipped with pairs of pliers (3, 5) for sealing and handling with a mutually opposite reciprocating movement.

  • Patent number: 6351928
Abstract: A packaging device is provided with a feed unit for a highly stretchable polyethylene-based plastic film which during use is able to generate and maintain a high number of electric charges on its surface. A vertically movable head having on its lower end a gripping surface with a very smooth, mirror-like gripping surface, is then lowered to have its gripping surface engaged with the leading end of the film which overlies and is supported on a planar supporting surface. The smooth gripping surface of the head adheres cohesively by electrostatic molecular attraction to the film, which is then moved by the head over the upper end of a package containing food, or the like, which is to be covered by the film. The head then descends severing the film from the supply thereof and securing the edge of the film to the edge of the container.

  • Patent number: 6151871
Abstract: A machine for packaging products (11) with film (12) made of heat shrinkable material, comprises a body (13) containing a lower portion (14) of a shrinkage chamber which houses, wrapped in film (12), a product (11) to be packaged, and a cover (16), hinged to said body (13) and defining an upper portion (17) of the shrinkage chamber. Disposed in the shrinkage chamber (14, 17) are a heating unit (22) and a ventilating unit (26, 27) to create air circulation (29, 30, 31) inside said chamber. The ventilating unit (26, 27) is situated above the heating unit (22) to generate, when in operation, at least a flow of air (31) through the heating unit (22) in the direction of the bottom of the shrinkage chamber (14, 17).

  • Patent number: 5223193
Abstract: Process for preparing shaped bodies with integrated polyurethane skin, which process comprises:(a) charging to a closed mould for rotational moulding a first premixed reactive polyurethane system;(b) causing the mould to rotate, according to rotational moulding technology, for a long enough time to form a thin layer of partially polymerised material on the inner surface of said mould; and(c) discontinuing the rotation and charging to the mould a reactive material which will fill the inner mould hollow.

  • Patent number: 4555895
Abstract: This invention relates to a machine (10) for packaging products in heat-shrinkable film, of the so-called bundling machine type, in which the film (65) fed from opposing reels (67) and (68) is made to pass over a product support platform (17) which is lowered into a vertically extending chamber (13) comprising at its top an aperture (16) which can be closed alternately by said support platform (17) and by a lateral panel (18) which is mobile horizontally when said platform (17) is in its lowered position.Within said chamber (13) there are positioned film welding means (51) and (52) and means (19) and (20) for heating the film when wrapped and welded about the product (66) in order to cause its heat-shrinkage. Furthermore, in a position corresponding with said aperture (16) of the chamber (13), means (80) are provided for lifting the film into a position above said support platform (17) when this latter has been raised in order to close the chamber (13) and carries the finished package (102).
