  • Patent number: 8006439
Abstract: This device for closing an opening includes a frame (4) that delimits a pass-through access opening (10) suitable for receiving a cover (6) and which includes a frame hinge knuckle (18). The frame hinge knuckle (18) includes a hinge surface (38) and a pass-through hinge knuckle opening (40). The frame (4) has an exterior side and an interior side. The device also includes an inserted plug (52) positioned in a recess (50) of the frame hinge knuckle (18) located on the inner side of the hinge surface (38) and which makes the inner side of the frame hinge knuckle (18) appreciably sealed off from the outside.

  • Patent number: 7648308
Abstract: This frame (2) comprises a bottom plate (22) which has a base (26) which defines a frame support surface (28) which is directed towards an inner side (I) and a skirt (20) which is intended to receive a covering element (4) and which defines an outer side (E). The bottom plate (22) comprises at least one cell (32) which is open towards the inner side (I). Use in frames for manholes.

  • Patent number: 7160051
Abstract: A fixed frame (4) and a covering element (6), the frame (4) defining a frame plane (P—P). A first latch (30) has two latch surfaces (32, 34) which cooperate and which are inclined relative to the frame plane (P—P). The covering element (6) and the frame (4) comprise cooperating stop surfaces (52, 56) which limit a displacement of the lid (6) within the frame (4) in the frame plane (P—P). The stop surfaces (52, 56) are inclined relative to the frame plane (P—P) by an angle of from 30° to 80° and they maintain the covering element flat on the frame. Application to manhole covers for closing manholes.

  • Patent number: 6722813
Abstract: A rigid anti-theft cover (3), for covering of shafts leading to underground mains-water systems, hingedly mounted on a frame (1) with two side edges (32A, 32B) bearing two projecting parts (30A, 30B) and engaging into two cells (10) of the frame which are at least partially overhung by a wall (13) of this frame to provide an axis of articulation parallel to a hinging border (31) of the cover. The cover also has an elastic finger (36) extending parallel to the side edges (32A, 32B) with a free end situated in proximity to the hinging border (31) and co-operating with a pressure lug (14) borne by the corresponding hinging edge (11) of the frame to permit, by elastic deformation of the finger (36) supported against the lug (14), positioning of the projecting parts (30A, 30B) into their respective cells (10) and their removal.

  • Patent number: 6053538
Abstract: A ball-and-socket joint of the type where the male end (1) of a first pipe element (2) has a spherical saddle (5) designed to be inserted and pivot in a specially designed housing with a spherical profile (11) which is set on the Y--Y axis socket of a second pipe element (4). A waterproof elastomer ring gasket (16) is set in a ring groove (15) in the socket's (3) internal surface. The groove is designed and located in such a way that it forms an expansion chamber for the elastomer of the gasket during the insertion of the spherical saddle into the socket and insures, in a locked position, the pressing of the gasket on the outside surface of the saddle located beyond the maximum diameter of said saddle measured in a direction perpendicular to the axis Y--Y of the socket. The gasket is thus subjected to a residual radial compression that guarantees the waterproofness of the assembly and simultaneously prohibits the dislocation of the pipe elements.
