  • Publication number: 20240126103
Abstract: A prescription lens insert and methods of use are described, in which flexing a frame of a prescription lens insert, such that left and right rims of the frame are displaced mediolaterally, aligns respective larger ends of two keyhole apertures of the frame with left and right mushroom-shaped connector pegs protruding rearward from a pair of protective glasses. The prescription lens insert is then placed over the left and right connector pegs, such that distal heads of the connector pegs pass through the two keyhole apertures of the frame and the keyhole apertures are disposed adjacent shaft portions of the connector pegs. The frame of the prescription lens insert is then unflexed to align respective smaller ends of the two keyhole apertures with the left and right connector pegs, such that the distal heads prevent removal of the unflexed frame.

  • Patent number: 11753712
Abstract: Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to electrochromic devices (100, 1500), assemblies incorporating electrochromic devices, and methods of making the same. Highly-durable electrochromic devices include tungsten oxide (e.g., WO3 or other suitable stoichiometry) films (102, 1510) prepared using high-rate bias-enhanced sputter deposition. The sputtering is performed in a low-pressure (e.g., 1 mTorr) environment, and the biasing is very high (e.g., greater than ?400 V, more preferably greater than ?500 V), which causes high energy ion bombardment that in turn leads to partial nanocrystallization of the WO3 matrix, while simultaneously generating the porous microstructure desirable for ionic diffusion.

  • Publication number: 20220371353
Abstract: A device for securing pages of a book in an open position. The device operates as a unitary Improved Book Page Holder in a secure manner that is effective without presenting intricate, moving or visibly obstructive parts. In particular, the device includes discretely separate flanges that interface open pages at apex locations thereof. Simultaneously, a central wedge component is provided is inserted into a crevice between the open pages. Thus, discrete wedge points of tension-pressure are introduced by way of the wedge component which occurs in unison with tension-pressure from the flanges at the apex locations. Therefore, as a practical matter, a unique form of securing and holding is provided that maintains the pages of a book in an open position until a user intends to advance device to the next pair of adjacent book pages or until removal of the device takes place.
