Publication number: 20240074369Abstract: Systems, processes and methods for controlling the irrigation of wastewater to a vegetated land are provided. The process can include determining a drained upper limit (DUL)-related criterion of an irrigation zone of the vegetated land, and obtaining a soil water tension measurement indicative of the irrigation status in the irrigation zone. The soil water tension measurement can then be compared to the DUL-related criterion, and when the soil water tension measurement of the irrigation zone is equal to or above the DUL-related criterion, an irrigation event characterized by a given volume of wastewater and a given irrigation duration can be initiated to irrigate the irrigation zone. The process can also include implementing a predetermined irrigation protocol in accordance with a set of predetermined parameters to irrigate the irrigation zone during an irrigation event, the set of predetermined parameters including for instance a DUL-related criterion for the irrigation zone.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Xavier LACHAPELLE-TROUILLARD, Louis-Clément BARBEAU, Francis Allard, Olivier PAYETTE

Patent number: 11861877Abstract: A system and method for detecting the origin of wooden planks in a sawmill is provided. The method scans surfaces of processed planks and, with the help of an AI algorithm comprising a deep-learning algorithm, determines the origin of said planks based on analysed parameters of the planks. The parameters used in the analysis are mainly properties of tool marks and the resulting analysis provides tools and equipment used. The deep learning algorithm may be in a self-learning mode or in a supervised training mode.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2021Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: BID GROUP TECHNOLOGIES LTDInventors: Gabriel Beaudet, Francis Clement, Alexandre Prevost, Guy Morissette

Publication number: 20220065841Abstract: A method for characterizing undebarked wooden logs and computing optimal debarking parameters in real time is provided. The method comprises a scanning device upstream of a debarker for providing data, usually in the form of images, to a deep learning algorithm model. The model may be trained with human assistance or not to detect and identify, with an acceptable amount of certainty, characteristics of undebarked logs. The characteristics are used in an optimization software and classified in an index table. The index table is used to determine optimized parameters for debarking the log.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2021Publication date: March 3, 2022Inventors: Francis Clement, Guy Morissette

Patent number: 9465122Abstract: Receiver lines arranged in an area to be explored are provided with geophones in respective receiver positions for measuring seismic waves from the subsoil. The receiver lines include first parallel lines and second lines parallel to the first lines and located in intermediate positions between the first lines. Seismic waves are emitted from source positions located along the first receiver lines, and seismic data, representing waves measured by the various geophones in response to the emitted waves, are obtained. Said first seismic data are processed by seismic interferometry in order to estimate other seismic data representing responses, in at least some of the receiver positions, to waves emitted from a virtual source located in a receiver position along a second line.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2012Date of Patent: October 11, 2016Assignee: TOTAL SAInventors: Constantin Gerea, Jean-Marc Mougenot, Francis Clement

Publication number: 20150142831Abstract: A computerized method where one provides first and second data sets, representative of the geological region of interest, each associating a signal to a bin of a four-dimensional input grid of the region of interest. Then one interpolates the first data set to determine both an interpolated first data set and interpolation operators. A residual between the second data set and the interpolated first data set is then determined. The residual is interpolated using said interpolation operators to determine an interpolated residual.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2012Publication date: May 21, 2015Applicants: TOTAL SA, CGGVERITAS SERVICES SAInventors: Francis Clement, Daniel Trad
