  • Publication number: 20220333429
Abstract: A sensor assembly for a liftgate opening system for a rear liftgate of a motor vehicle is provided. The rear liftgate includes a door frame, a stationary window, a lock device, and an actuator for moving the lock device between locked and unlocked states. The sensor assembly includes a housing attached to the stationary window and a substrate disposed within the housing. The sensor assembly further includes a capacitive touch sensor engaging a target portion of the stationary window and configured to generate a touch signal, in response to a user touching the target portion of the stationary window. The sensor assembly further includes a proximity sensor generating a proximity signal, in response to the user being disposed within a predetermined distance of the proximity sensor.

  • Publication number: 20220222465
Abstract: A camera assembly is provided for a facial recognition system of a motor vehicle. The camera assembly includes a cosmetic panel adapted to be attached to the motor vehicle. The cosmetic panel has an outboard side and an inboard side facing the motor vehicle. The cosmetic panel is opaque to visible light and transmissive to an infrared light. The camera assembly further includes a single infrared camera adapted to be disposed adjacent to the inboard side of the cosmetic panel. The single infrared camera generates an image signal, in response to the single infrared camera receiving the infrared light transmitted through cosmetic panel.

  • Patent number: 10890727
Abstract: A light module for illuminating an outer component of a vehicle, including: a housing for fastening the light module to the vehicle; a cover mounted on the housing; an inner space delimited between the housing and the cover; a printed circuit board in the inner space; a light source on the printed circuit board and configured for emitting an illumination beam; and a light guide in the housing facing the light source and extending outside the inner space for guiding the illumination beam along the outer component; wherein the housing and the printed circuit board are provided with complementary indexing means tightly fitted relative to each other, for directly positioning the light source mounted on the printed circuit board relative to the light guide in the housing. A process for manufacturing such light module is also described.

  • Publication number: 20180172140
Abstract: In at least some implementations, a shift lever assembly enables shifting among gears of a vehicle transmission. A primary shift path includes multiple positions corresponding to automatic transmission shifting among multiple drive gears, a reverse gear and a park gear. A secondary shift path includes multiple positions to permit user selection among the multiple drive gears, and an interconnecting path extends between the primary shift path and the secondary shift path so that the shift lever may move between the shift paths. A blocking member is movable relative to the shift lever to selectively permit or prevent the shift lever from moving from the primary shift path to the secondary shift path. An actuator moves the blocking member to prevent shift lever movement to the secondary shift path unless the shift lever is in a position corresponding to one of the multiple drive gears.
