    Abstract: A managed access system is for mobile wireless devices (MWDs) in a facility geographically within a wireless communications network of a communications carrier. The system may include at least one RF antenna arranged at the facility and including an RF launch structure, and an elongate electrical conductor having a proximal end extending through the RF launch structure and a distal end spaced apart from the RF launch structure to define an elongate RF coverage pattern. The system may further include radio equipment coupled to the at least one RF antenna, and a management access controller cooperating with the radio equipment to communicate with a given MWD in the elongate RF coverage pattern within the facility, block outside communications via the wireless communications network when the given MWD is an unauthorized MWD, and provide outside communications via the wireless communications network when the given MWD is an authorized MWD.

The patch antenna element may have a symmetric axis dividing the patch antenna element into first and second symmetric areas, and first and second feed openings in the first and second symmetric areas, respectively. The antenna assembly may also include first and second feed pads in the first and second feed openings, respectively, and first and second feed lines extending through the substrate and respectively coupling the feed pads to the wireless communications circuitry. Spaced apart conductive shielding vias may be coupled to the ground plane and may extend through the substrate surrounding the patch antenna element.

The method may include forming an intermediate well adjacent a given injector/producer well pair, and operating a positioning actuator to position a radio frequency (RF) sensor coupled to the positioning actuator to at least one predetermined location within the intermediate well. The method may further include operating the RF sensor at the at least one predetermined location within the intermediate well to selectively sense at least one corresponding portion of the subterranean formation adjacent the given injector/producer well pair. The method may also include recovering hydrocarbon resources from the plurality of injector/producer well pairs including the given injector/producer well pair.
