  • Patent number: 4013410
Abstract: A chemical sterilization process for contact lenses, and apparatus for practicing said method, wherein the lens are subjected to the anti-microbial action of a sterilizing solution, with said solution being decomposed by a catalytic agent. The apparatus of the present invention concerns primarily a capsule in which the lens are mounted, and an inverter-timer. Initially the sterilizing agent is introduced into the capsule and the catalytic agent positioned above and out of contact with said solution. The capsule is assembled to said inverter, and after expiration of a preset period, said capsule is inverted to establish contact between the catalytic agent and said solution and thereby commences the decaying reaction.

  • Patent number: 3991908
Abstract: There is disclosed a pill dispensing cap assembly device adapted for mounting on the neck of a pill container. The cap assembly device is designed to provide for the effective and efficient dispensing of pills which are randomly stored in a container, upon rotation of one element of the cap assembly, through a rather limited arc. The cap assembly includes a cap member secured to the neck of the container and having a discharge passage in communication with the interior of the container; fixed with respect to the cap member is a cover element having one or more dispensing openings therein, which are offset relative to the cap member discharge opening. Mounted between the cap member and the cover element is a rotor member adapted for rotation relative to the cap member and cover element and having a pill receiving aperture therein.

  • Patent number: 3962808
Abstract: The embodiment of the invention disclosed herein is directed to a checklist device for providing an indication of tasks to be performed and tasks already performed. The checklist device includes a housing having a first receptacle therein for receiving an indicia or information bearing sheet. A second receptacle is formed in the housing and provides for the storage of drawing or other indicia-bearing sheets to be interchanged with the indicia-bearing sheet in the first receptacle. A windowed panel is secured to the housing and provides a plurality of transparent, discrete viewing areas. The indicia on the indicia-bearing sheet within the first receptacle are in registry with the transparent windows, and a plurality of groups of toggles are secured to the window panel with one group of toggles positioned in relation to one or more of the viewing areas.

  • Patent number: 3945717
Abstract: The embodiment of the invention disclosed herein is directed to a magnifying lens structure adapted to receive a light from within a housing and transmit the light toward an object point of the lens to illuminate the area thereabout. The lens structure has two parallel strips of refractive surfaces on opposite sides of a magnifying lens. The light is transmitted into the transparent lens material and therethrough to the strips of refractive surfaces whereupon the light is directed to the area which surrounds the object point for better viewing of the area.

  • Patent number: 3942280
Abstract: An embodiment of fish lure comprising a body which may be made up of articulated components, has a cross-section which includes a central web and flange portions, such that the fish lure is relatively lightweight, yet appears as a full-bodied fish conforming to the shape of a small bait fish upon which larger game fish feed. The fish lure may be provided with an adjustable diving plane at the head portion thereof and has a thin web and flange cross-section throughout the body portion to be pulled through the water with ease. The fish lure construction is ideally suited for use to attract large fish and can be broken down for storage.

  • Patent number: 3939968
Abstract: A contact lens holder is provided with a pair of receptacles to receive a pair of contact lenses for holding them in place while they are inserted into a container. The container has liquid therein to be heated to a sterilization temperature, thereby sterilizing the contact lenses. A relatively movable vessel is positioned within the container and held in a desired position during the heating operation. The vessel is formed of transparent material and contains a quantity of eutectic material viz. a material having a specified melting point. At the outset of the sterilization process the vessel is positioned such that the eutectic material, solid at temperatures below the sterilizing temperature, is at top of the vessel. The eutectic material melts once the sterilization temperature is reached and will flow to the bottom of the vessel, thereby indicating that the sterilization temperature has in fact been reached upon subsequent cooling and removal of the holder.
