  • Patent number: 5234128
Abstract: A material spreader consisting of a hopper, attached to a motor vehicle, which receives and dispenses an aggregate material in predetermined quantities and in a layer having substantial uniformity in thickness. The rate of dispensing the aggregate material is controlled by a computer which receives the desired weight of aggregate per area data input from the operator, senses the velocity of the motor vehicle, and adjusts the release rate of the aggregate from the hopper. The hopper is laterally expansible to accommodate varying road widths, and dispenses the aggregate material through gate openings in the bottom of the hopper. The aggregate is dispensed from the hopper without the aid of any operational parts exposed to the aggregate material within the interior area of the hopper.

  • Patent number: 4639103
Abstract: A multi-position rear view mirror for mounting on a vehicle and configured to provide four separate fields of vision which the vehicle's operator adjustably predetermines to suit viewing requirements. The multi-position mirror is remotely controllable to allow selective positioning thereof to provide desired fields of vision.

  • Patent number: 4415267
Abstract: An apparatus for mixing an additive with molten paving material and for application of the resultant paving composition. The apparatus includes a mixing mechanism in heat transfer relationship with a heated materials tank for recirculatingly moving molten asphalt from the materials tank through the mixing mechanism and back to the materials tank with the additive being added and mixed with the recirculating molten paving material for production of the resulting paving composition which is subsequently supplied from the heated materials tank to an applicator device of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4322167
Abstract: A method and apparatus for mixing molten asphalt and granulated rubber including an asphalt input system and a rubber input system for delivering the molten asphalt and the granulated rubber in accordance with predetermined mixture proportions to a two-stage mixing system which mixes those materials to form a consistantly formululated thoroughly blended asphalt-rubber composition.

  • Patent number: 4274586
Abstract: A vehicle mounted fluid spreading apparatus including a fixed spray bar having an extender spray bar mounted on each of the opposite ends thereof by means of swing joints so that each of the extender spray bars are movable about a single angularly disposed axis between extended and stowed positions. The spray bars and the swing joints have dual fluid flow passages formed therethrough so that fluid under pressure from a fluid supply is serially recirculated through the spray bars and swing joints back to the fluid supply when the apparatus is in a standby mode, and is sprayingly applied by actuator controlled self-adjusting nozzles mounted in the spray bars when the apparatus is in the operating mode.
