Publication number: 20130275309Abstract: This invention discloses an eye-positioning method for unlocking a pattern lock by a user, comprising: showing to the user a pattern diagram on a display, the pattern diagram being pre-stored in a storage device at a back-end server, and is transmitted to the display via a network; capturing a facial image of the user by a video-taking equipment coupled to the display; an on-screen marker real-time tracking an eye of the payer, enabling the marker to move on the pattern diagram to form a marker-movement path according to movement of the eye relative to the video-taking equipment, the eye being either a left eye or a right eye as pre-agreed; and determining if the marker-movement path includes an entirety of a pre-set action path. This invention also provides an electronic-payment authentication method using the aforementioned pattern-unlocking method, for payments at retail sites and for online payments.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2013Publication date: October 17, 2013Inventor: Francis King Hei KWONG

Publication number: 20070006973Abstract: The present invention describes a blade assembly for use with side-sealing and lap-sealing machines, which are used to seal thermoplastic film. Briefly, the cutting element is oval in shape, and has its entire outer edge profiled. This provides four distinct cutting surfaces, depending on the mounting orientation of the cutting element in the machine. This cutting element is held against a heating block, and its temperature is continuously monitored by a temperature sensor. The sensor is spring-loaded to insure solid contact with the cutting element, and thus, accurate temperature measurements. This entire assembly is then encased in insulation. Additionally, the cutting element is mounted on an adjustable platform, which permits vertical adjustments relative to the film. Thus, the specific portion of the cutting element which actually engages the film can be adjusted to improve the cutting quality or further extend the useful life of the cutting element.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2005Publication date: January 11, 2007Inventors: Francis King, Jonathan Van, Mitchell Smith, Kenneth Chrisman

Publication number: 20070000213Abstract: The present invention describes an improved grip belt drive system for use in sealing machines used to wrap articles in thermoplastic film. Briefly, a timing belt is used in place of the traditional flat or V belt. The presence of teeth on the pulleys, coupled with the use of a timing belt eliminates the possibility of slippage between the belt and the pulleys. To protect the system in the case of a film jam or misplaced article, a torque-limiting mechanism is included, which disengages the drive system if there is excessive counterforce. Furthermore, the outer surface of timing belt contains a pattern, which when mated with a second belt having the same or a complementary pattern, meshes in such a way so that the two belts are positively locked in both the longitudinal and transverse directions.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2005Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventors: Francis King, Mitchell Smith

Publication number: 20060248548Abstract: An optical card or disc drive having a card or disc adaptive receiving carrying tray. A compound pivot mechanism engages a spindle hub with a card or disc inserted and carried on the tray. The spindle and hub is supported by a base chassis, which pivots with respect to a main frame. A sub-chassis is pivot connected with the mainframe and elastically coupled with the base chassis. A cam member on the main frame engages the sub-chassis to pivot the sub-chassis coincident with the tray being level positioned or lowered relative to card spindle hub. The sub-chassis in turn pivots the base chassis to engage or disengage the disc with the spindle hub. The movement of the tray also activates a motor and roller combination to receive or eject the card into or from the tray. The tray accommodates card or discs and comprises mechanisms for securing the card or disc while the card disc is retracted into and ejected from the main frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2005Publication date: November 2, 2006Inventors: Francis King, Jeffrey Liu
