    Abstract: A highly flexible egg filler flat comprising a plurality of downwardly directed deep egg receiving pockets or cells grouped around upwardly tapering hollow support posts which terminate in a transverse top wall is disclosed. The individual cell is defined by a side wall which forms a hollow cone shape having a transverse bottom wall. The cells and support posts are interconnected by inverted V-shaped saddle formations to provide lateral support for the eggs positioned in each cell. The lowest most point of the saddle formations is substantially above a horizontal plane defined by the terminal ends of the outer peripheral edges of the flat. The outer peripheral edges comprising two opposing substantially continuous flanges directed upwardly and outwardly from the bottom of the cells adjacent the edge of the flat and two opposing substantially continuous flanges directed downwardly and outwardly from the top of the support posts adjacent the edge of the flat.
