  • Patent number: 9704396
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing notifications regarding issues with nearby vehicles. A roadside reporter receives notifications from individuals or computing devices reporting problems or violations associated with nearby vehicles, and the notification for uniqueness and authenticity. Upon determining that the notification is unique and authentic, the roadside reporter system notifies the driver of the nearby vehicle and other relevant parties about the problem or violation. The roadside reporter may issue rewards to the reporting user. The roadside reporter system further allows the driver of the nearby vehicle to respond to the notification, and subsequently provides the driver with incentives to address the problem or violation.

  • Patent number: 9280252
Abstract: An insurance application operating at a mobile computing device may request a set of recommended insurance tasks for a recommendation engine. The request may identify a user associated with the insurance application, and the recommendation engine may associate the user with a user group based on user profile attributes associated with the user. The recommendation engine may determine which tasks available for selection at the insurance application to include in the set of recommended insurance tasks based on selection trend data associated with the user group. The recommendation engine may provide the set of recommended insurance tasks to the insurance application, and the insurance application may configure an insurance task list that includes insurance tasks of the set of recommended insurance tasks.

  • Patent number: 9019092
Abstract: Sensors installed at a vehicle may automatically detect that a disturbance event, such as a collision, has occurred at the vehicle. A disturbance response module installed at the vehicle may automatically determine whether the vehicle was running and whether the vehicle was moving when the disturbance event occurred. The disturbance response module may determine that the vehicle was parked in response to a determination that the vehicle was not running and not moving when the disturbance event occurred. A communication module installed at the vehicle may automatically transmit a notification message that indicates a disturbance event has occurred at the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8799034
Abstract: A communication module may receive communications from a vehicle. A collision detection module may determine that a collision has occurred at a vehicle based on one or more of the communications received from a vehicle. A participant identification module may identify one or more participants involved in the collision based on one or more communications received from the vehicle. A fault determination module may identify one of the participants as the at-fault participant based on a comparison of a fault determination ruleset to vehicle telematics data included in one or more of the communications received from the vehicle. A claims processing module may determine whether to file an insurance claim associated with one of the participants based on the estimated repair cost.

  • Publication number: 20060165976
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement of resin saturable release sheets used in the art of laminate manufacture. More particularly, the invention relates to an improved release sheet for releasing from one another in a press pack a plurality of heat and pressure consolidated resin impregnated laminates. The release sheet comprises an unsized cellulosic-based paper substrate to which an aqueous solution of water-soluble multivalent salt (or salts) is applied during formation of the substrate, and wherein the substrate is subsequently coated after formation on at least one salt-treated side with a film of a salt of alginic acid.

  • Patent number: 6924895
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical sensor of air borne acoustic waves. The sensor comprises means for producing mutually coherent optical sampling and reference beams, which may be combined to form an intermediate frequency carrier, the sampling beam being exposed to the acoustic field, in which acoustic wave induced density variations occur. These density variations produce a variation in the index of refraction and thereupon a phase modulation of the sampling beam. This phase modulation may be recovered by an optical detector and a phase detector as an electrical signal representative of the acoustic signal. The invention has application to security systems.
