  • Patent number: 8429382
Abstract: A symmetric multi-processing (SMP) processor includes a primary interconnect trunk for communication of information between multiple compute elements situated along the primary interconnect trunk. The processor also includes a secondary interconnected trunk that may be oriented perpendicular with respect to the primary interconnect trunk. The processor distributes data on-ramps and data off-ramps across the data lanes of a data trunk of the primary interconnect trunk to enable communication with compute elements and other structures both on-chip and off-chip.

  • Patent number: 7917730
Abstract: A multi-chip processor apparatus includes multiple processor chips on a substrate. At least one of the multiple processor chips includes a die with a primary interconnect trunk that communicates information between multiple compute elements situated along the primary interconnect trunk. That multiple processor chip includes a secondary interconnected trunk that may be oriented perpendicular with respect to the primary interconnect trunk. The secondary interconnect trunk communicates information off-chip via a number of I/O interfaces at the perimeter of that multiple processor chip. The secondary interconnect trunk intersects the primary interconnect trunk at an intersection at which a bus control element is located. The bus control element includes a primary trunk interface that couples to the primary interconnect trunk at the intersection to enable the bus control element to control on-chip communication among the compute elements via coherency signals on the primary interconnect trunk.

  • Publication number: 20060254220
Abstract: A system for evacuating containers. The system includes a base housing defining a recess having a vacuum inlet port in communication with a vacuum source. An inner door is hinged to the base housing and is sized to cover the recess when in a closed position, and an outer door having a sealing member is hinged to close over the inner door. A vacuum nozzle extends at least partially between the inner and outer doors and is in communication with the recess. The inner and outer doors cooperate to retain a flexible container therebetween and around the nozzle so that the nozzle is positioned for fluid communication with an inside of the container. A removable drip pan is positioned to retain fluids drawn by the nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20060170121
Abstract: The present invention is a family of portable humidifiers. Each of the portable humidifiers has a housing, a number of wick assemblies, and a fan. The housing has an air inlet, an air outlet and a reservoir for holding water. The number of wick assemblies are positioned within the housing to contact the water in the reservoir. The wick assemblies are arranged in parallel between the air inlet and the fan. The fan is provided within the housing for creating an airflow. The airflow enters the air inlet, passes through the wick assemblies for adding moisture to the airflow from the water in the reservoir, and exits through the air outlet. The number for at least one of the portable humidifiers is different from the number for another of the portable humidifiers. Preferably each of the portable humidifiers includes a wick frame seated within the reservoir for supporting the wick assemblies. Each of the wick assemblies preferably has a wick element and a button.

  • Patent number: 6999105
Abstract: An apparatus, circuit arrangement, program product and method of scaling an image horizontally partition a source image into a plurality of partitions, with each partition having a width that is no greater than the width of a line buffer used to scale the image. By partitioning an image into a plurality of partitions, the overall width of the scaled image is not constrained by the width of the line buffer. As a result, in many instances line buffers that are significantly smaller than conventional full-width line buffers may be used to generate scaled images that are substantially wider than may be generated by conventional buffers. Moreover, when implemented in hardware, the line buffers typically occupy significantly less real estate on an integrated circuit, thus reducing both cost and power consumption.

  • Publication number: 20050149717
Abstract: A security system comprising a plurality of security subsystems each of the security subsystems being discretely located, typically in separate buildings. The security subsystems are interconnected by a system communications bus to enable bi-directional communication between the security subsystems. Each of the security subsystems comprises a user interface, a control panel, a plurality of security devices, a local communications bus, and a panel linking gateway. The panel linking gateway allows data on the local communications bus of each security subsystem to be transmitted to and received from the system communications bus. The security system allows a keypad or other user interface from one security subsystem to access and control a second remote security subsystem.
