    Abstract: The invention concerns a catalyst containing by weight:(a) from 10 to 99.99% of a mordenite being in major part shaped as needles and having a Si/Al atomic ratio of about 5 to 50, a benzene adsorption capacity of more than 5% by weight with respect to the dry mordenite weight, a volume V of a unit cell from 2.73 to 2,78 nm.sup.3, a sodium content by weight lower than 0.2% and adsorbing molecules of a kinetic diameter larger than about 6.6.times.10.sup.-10 m,(b) from 0 to 89.99% of a matrix,(c) from 0.005 to 15% of at least one metal from group VIII, and(d) from 0.005 to 10% of at least one metal from group IV A.The catalyst is used for hydroisomerizing cuts containing a high proportion of normal paraffins having 4, 5, 6 or 7 carbon atoms per molecule to obtain with a good conversion and selectivity a mixture containing a high proportion of isoparaffins.

    Abstract: The invention concerns an improved process for dismutation and transalkylation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons in the presence of a catalyst consisting essentially of acid mordenite having a total SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 molar ratio from 9 to 80 and a sodium content lower than 1% by weight, said catalyst containing at least one metal selected from group M formed of nickel, palladium and metals from group I.sub.B of the periodic classification of elements and containing at least one metal of group IV.sub.A of said classification.The catalyst preferably contains from 30 to 99.9 % by weight of mordenite, from 0.005 to 25% by weight of a group M metal, from 0.05 to 10% by weight of a group IV.sub.A metal and optionally up to 50% by weight of a binding agent.The invention is particularly useful for dismutation of toluene or transalkylation of toluene and of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons having at least 9 carbon atoms per molecule.

    Abstract: A new catalyst with a highly dealuminated mordenite base, useful in particular in hydrotreatment processes for improving the low temperature properties and the pour point and cloud point of oil cuts contains:(1) an acidic carrier comprising(a) at least 50% (calculated as dry base) of highly dealuminated mordenite and characterized by a molar ratio SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 higher than 110 and a sodium content lower than or equal to 0.5% by weight, and(b) an amorphous matrix, and(2) said acid carrier containing in association at least one oxide of a metal from group VIII and at least one oxide of a metal from group VI of the periodic classification of elements.
