  • Patent number: 6883262
Abstract: A locking device clamps an abutment on the lever of a lever action firearm to engage the small of the stock preventing the lever being closed into depressing engagement with a pin on the stock which, if depressed, would disengage an internal safety device disconnecting/blocking the trigger and permit discharge of the firearm. The lever has a handle loop providing opposed, spaced apart rails and the clamp has plate-like clamping jaws with rail-seating grooves locating the jaws on the rails in bridging relation with the abutment extending towards the stock integrally formed by ends of the plates. A key or combination lock engages in a snap action by moving the plates together and biasing springs throw the plates apart when unlocked.

  • Patent number: 5241769
Abstract: A key operated safety locking device of a tubular magazine firearm has comprising a body insertable through a loading port thereof so as to be contained substantially completely within the tubular magazine forming a snug fit with a rim of the loading port and containing a key operated latching member engaging behind the rim of the loading port; an action bar engaging projection extending rearwardly from the body into engagement with an action bar lock of the firearm to pivot the action bar, raising a connector out of alignment with a sear into an inoperative position so that squeezing the trigger cannot effect release of the hammer and the firearm will not fire. In an alternative, a hammer blocking member is carried by the body and maintains the hammer spaced apart from the firing pin.

  • Patent number: 4532729
Abstract: In firearms which have a removable magazine feed, provision is made to insert a key operated safety magazine unit which replaces the existing magazine unit. The safety magazine unit locks itself into the magazine well of the firearm when actuated by a removable key. Locking of the safety magazine unit prevents its removal from the magazine well of the firearm and replacement by a magazine with live ammunition. Locking of the safety magazine unit also immobilizes the firing mechanism of the firearm. Immobilization results from an internal blocking of the breech or bolt action necessary for the weapon to be opened or fired. Installation of a safety magazine unit completely immobilizes the firearm preventing its unauthorized firing. The safety magazine unit does not interfere with any of the weapon's inherent safety features.

  • Patent number: 4461108
Abstract: Revolvers are used by a wide segment of the population and it is difficult to supervise the use of these firearms unless they are kept under lock and key in a cabinet. The present invention enables the owner of a revolver to disable operation of the cylinder of the revolver by inserting the safety locking unit of this invention. When inserted, the safety locking unit cannot be removed by unauthorized persons since removal requires a key. The presence of the safety locking unit does not affect the normal handling of the revolver such as holstering of its inherent safety features.
