Patent number: 4997134Abstract: A document shredder for destroying a generally rectangular document and having feed rollers for engaging a marginal portion of a document and simultaneously spirally coiling the document into a generally cylindrical form while advancing the document in an axial direction. A rotary shredding mechanism cuts the leading end portion of the document as it is advanced by the feed rollers. The shredding mechanism may be arranged to cut the advancing document along a line of shear spaced inward of the leading edge of the leading end portion to trim successive strips from the leading end of the document. The shredding mechanism may also include chipping mechanism for reducing each strip to smaller bits as the strip is formed.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 1990Date of Patent: March 5, 1991Assignee: Group Four DesignInventor: Francis W. Patent number: 4768655Abstract: A message organizer formed by a plurality of substantially identical message trays arranged in vertically stacked relation and connected in snap-engagement to each other and to a support base. Diagonally opposite corners of each message tray are truncated to expose the corners of rectangular message sheets received within the trays. The trays are closed at opposite sides and open at the front and rear ends. Inclined inner and outer surfaces on the low opposite end walls of each message tray provide angled lable areas and aid in the placement of messages in and removal of messages from the trays.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1987Date of Patent: September 6, 1988Assignee: Quad Research Inc.Inventor: Francis W. Patent number: 4289070Abstract: An inner frame having upper and lower portions carries an inkable pad in the lower portion thereof. The pad projects below the inner frame for contact with a surface to be stamped. An integral retaining ridge is located on the outer surface of the inner frame between the upper and lower portions. An outer frame is detachably connected to the inner frame and a hollow sleeve member is interposed between the inner and outer frames. The sleeve member has an upper flange which is located above the integral retaining ridge. A plurality of C-shaped resilient fingers integrally molded with the inner frame, outer frame or the sleeve member is located between the upper flange of the sleeve and the inner and outer frames. The lower edge of the sleeve member extends below the level of the inkable pad when the spring member is in the relaxed position. Downward pressure on the outer frame is transmitted by the detachable connection to the inner frame.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1979Date of Patent: September 15, 1981Assignee: Cosco Industries, Inc.Inventor: Francis W.
