Abstract: A method for assigning to a terminal device (UE) a service server (SS) carried out by an IS, by any of the SSs, and by the UDB in a cooperative/corresponding manner. A “first reallocation (IS/SS/UDB) procedure” and a “second reallocation (IS/SS/UDB) procedure” are correspondingly performed within the IS, the SS and the UDB. The first reallocation procedure allows, via IS/SS/UDB processing and interactions, storing by the UDB, in relationship with at least one of the user identifiers of a UE, a mark indicating that the UE has been assigned to a replacement SS to substitute another SS that has failed. The second reallocation procedure allows, also via IS/SS/UDB processing and interactions, utilization of the mark to trigger a new SS reallocation of the UE to a SS when the UE sends a subsequent registration message.

Abstract: A method and a node for storing subscription-related information and a method carried out in a node including a call session control function or applications server function and a corresponding node. There is a need to diminish signaling load in an IMS and/or shorten signaling time, particularly when updating user profiles in respect to service profiles. This is addressed by a method including the steps of receiving a request message identifying a user; determining whether the received request message comprises an indication of support of a user type associated with the user, the user type indicating that the user shares a certain user profile with other users; and storing for the user an attribute associated with the user type, which attribute is common for a plurality of users all associated with the same user type, if the received request message comprises the indication of support of the user type.

Notifications are sent to a Home Subscriber Server, HSS, of the IMS core network, indicating IMS registration state changes of users. Delivery failure of a notification of an IMS registration state change sent to a HSS and relating to a given user is detected. An association between an identifier of the given user and an indication of said delivery failure is stored in order to indicate a loss of IMS registration state synchronization for the given user between the S-CSCF and the HSS. An event requiring an IMS registration state change for the user is detected. A determination is made that a delivery failure indication associated with the user's identifier is stored. The HSS is notified indicating the required IMS registration state change and of a previous loss of the IMS registration state synchronization.
