Abstract: The present disclosure relates to modular unit operations designed for a flexible mount converter and methods for manufacturing and/or assembling various components of absorbent articles. The modular unit operation comprises a modular frame comprising a transformation portion. A drive portion is joined to the drive side of the modular frame, wherein the drive portion is joined without belts and pulleys. The modular unit operations are preferably standardized, configurable, re-usable, re-configurable, and stackable.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a base designed for a flexible mount converter and method for manufacturing and/or assembling various components of absorbent articles. The base includes a horizontal rail mount system that enables placement of a plurality of modular unit operations in nearly any location imaginable to form the flexible mount converter. The base minimizes materials, change effort, and cost while maximizing flexibility in placement, adjustment, and re-use of modular unit operations.

Abstract: A flexible manufacturing system for producing and packaging consumer products into different packages is disclosed. The system includes one or more supplying means for providing the consumer products, and a multiplicity of packaging means for packaging the consumer products into different packages. The system further includes one or more conveying means for conveying the consumer products from the supplying means to the packaging means. The conveying means forms a continuous path linking the supplying means with the packaging means. The continuous path includes a multiplicity of receptors capable of accepting, carrying, and discharging the consumer products. Further, the system includes one or more stacking means for arranging the consumer products into separate stacks of products prior to packaging.
