  • Publication number: 20150309058
Abstract: A technique is disclosed for sample management for use in conjunction with sequencing devices that sequence biological samples, e.g., DNA and RNA. A sequencing device or a network of sequencing devices may be scheduled according to the characteristics of the samples in queue and the capabilities and availability of sequencing devices. Biological samples may be automatically queued and loaded via a sample distribution system. A sample distribution system may be used to reduce operator intervention.

Inventors: Robert C. Kain, Alexander G. Dickinson, Min-Jui Richard Shen, Helmy A. Eltoukhy, Francisco Jose Garcia
  • Publication number: 20150248340
Abstract: A user may operate many devices, each of which may provide a set of actions, such as installing firmware or software or viewing the contents of the device. However, in order to perform these actions, the user may have to interact with each device using a different user interface, resulting in an inconsistent user experience. Instead, a device action service may allow a user to identify his or her devices, may identify the actions available for each device (e.g., by interacting with a device source of each device, such as a manufacturer); and upon the request of the user, may present a list of the user's devices and the actions available for each device. The actions may comprise hyperlinks to various portions of the website of the device source (e.g., a driver page and a service registration page), or controls invoking the requested action upon the device.

  • Publication number: 20130275486
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel approach for storing, analyzing, and/or accessing biological data in a cloud computing environment. Sequence data generated by a particular sequencing device may be uploaded to the cloud computing environment during a sequencing run, which reduces the on-site storage needs for the sequence data. Analysis of the data may also be performed in the cloud computing environment, and the instructions for such analysis may be set at the originating sequencing device. The sequence data in the cloud computing environment may be shared according to permissions. Further, the sequence data may be modified or annotated by authorized secondary users.

  • Patent number: 7769548
Abstract: A technique is provided for analyzing image data for biological microarrays. Images are made of multiple swaths in multiple passes of an imaging system. Sites encoded by the image data are assigned a value and these values are indexed by site location. An overlapping region of the swaths may be identified by analysis of the indexed site values. The site values for all image sites are then stitched and the data is integrated and stored for later analysis.

  • Patent number: 6339913
Abstract: The osteointegration of osseous fixing implants may be improved through a series of surface treatments. These treatments comprise a cleaning and passivation process, the application of a coating of CaUPVHXOYCZ to the implant, where subindexes u, v, x, y, and z are natural numbers including zero with variable stoichiometry, and a sterilization process by irradiation. The flexibility of this method provides for the control of physical and chemical properties of the obtained surface in order to match the properties with those of the bone in which the implant will be placed.
