  • Publication number: 20220361102
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for automatic detection whether a wirelessly connected network device with a non-network role was powered on/power cycled in a normal manner, such as using a legacy (wall) switch, or after recovery of a power failure. Based on the result of the detection, an expected behavior for end users is selected, so that the connected network device can behave accordingly.

  • Patent number: 10264516
Abstract: Apparatus, method, and computer program product for controlling network discovery of a wireless mesh network, wherein a modified implementation of the network discovery process is suggested. For a touchlink target device, it is sufficient to receive one of all scan request commands that a touchlink initiator node broadcasts for device discovery on a predetermined channel. It is thus enough for the touchlink target device to intermittently switch its receiver to the predetermined channel for a specific duration to receive at least one of those scan command commands.

  • Patent number: 8917023
Abstract: This invention relates to an illumination system (100) comprising a plurality of luminaires (101a-d). The luminaires are each arranged to transmit in the light emitted an identification code ID. To ensure sufficient detection of the identification codes during selection with a selection device (120), the system further comprises a control unit (130) which is arranged for identification of any luminaire which has a nominal drive value equal to or below a minimum preset value, or equal to or above a maximum preset value. The control unit sets (or instructs a driver to set) the nominal drive value of such identified luminaire to a predetermined value to achieve a corresponding predetermined light output from the luminaire ensuring a sufficient signal for the transmission of the identification code ID.

  • Patent number: 8780807
Abstract: A wireless network system (10) and a method of operating a wireless network system (10) is described. The wireless network system (10) comprises at least a control device (1) and a function device (21, 21?, 21?). The control device (1) being configured to send an application control command to said function device (21, 21?, 21?) with a first network address (AD1) and the function device (21, 21?, 21?) being configured upon reception of said application control command to send an acknowledgement signal to said control device (1). The control device (1) sends conflict information to said function device (21, 21?, 21?) in case more than one acknowledgement signal is received, and said function device (21, 21?, 21?) upon reception of said conflict information stores a second network address (AD2), different from said first network address (AD1) in said device configuration memory (28), so that said function device (21, 21?, 21?) is addressable in said network system (10) using said second network address (AD2).
