  • Patent number: 8584450
Abstract: A single-piece and rigid coupling of a turbocharger with an oxidation mechanism of an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine, including a burnt gas inlet duct that extends along an inlet axis and a burnt gas outlet duct that extends along an outlet axis substantially orthogonal to the inlet axis. The inlet and outlet axes are located in two substantially parallel separate planes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 11, 2008
Date of Patent: November 19, 2013
    Assignee: Renault S.A.S.
    Inventors: Franck Alizon, Julien-Ange Maestroni
  • Patent number: 7926460
Abstract: An air distributor including a cylindrical tubular body including connecting channels for supplying cylinders of an internal combustion engine, branches of which open in an aligned manner along a generatrix of the tubular body. The tubular body extends upstream into the branches of a 180° elbow that opens at an air inlet, the elbow inclined in relation to the diametral plane of the tubular body containing generatrix. A recess is provided in the tubular body opposite the branches of the first and second distributed cylinders. The recess has a converging/diverging profile around the lowest area between the branches, and the recess can use Venturi effect to reduce drop in swirl in the second distributed cylinder induced by architecture of the inclined elbow distributor, by regulating airflows in the channels. The distributor can mount to an intake face of a diesel engine cylinder head with two intake ducts per cylinder.

The tubular body extends upstream into branches of a 180° elbow that opens at an air inlet, the elbow being inclined in relation to the diametral plane of the tubular body containing generatrix. The distributor includes a ramp partially throttling an air flow area of the main body to reduce a drop in swirl in the first distributed cylinder induced by the inclined elbow distributor, the ramp provided upstream close to the connecting channels branches of the first distributed cylinder on the elbow inclination side. The ramp can have gently- and steeply-inclined upstream and downstream faces. The distributor can mount to an intake face of a diesel engine cylinder head with two intake ducts per cylinder.
