Abstract: A method of performing a spectroscopy process on a fixed biological sample is described. The method comprises the steps of: (i) treating the fixed biological material to cause oxidation of haemoglobin present in the fixed biological material, and (ii) performing spectroscopy on the treated fixed biological sample. The method is particularly suitable for cervical sample preparation for reduced variability in Raman spectroscopy.
