  • Publication number: 20190073576
Abstract: Some embodiments relate to a device for checking the presence of articles on a shelf, that includes a detector circuit for detecting the presence of at least one article placed in at least one area of the shelf, the detector circuit being capable of switching between an article detection state, wherein it detects the presence of at least one article in the area, and an article non-detection state, wherein it does not detect any article in the area, and an RFID tag connected to the detector circuit and capable of reading and storing the article detection state or article non-detection state, of the detector circuit, the RFID tag further including an identification code for identifying the shelf area and being arranged to communicate the identification code and the state of the detector circuit to a remote RFID reader.

  • Patent number: 9704079
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a radio-frequency identification tag comprising a textile material backing intended to receive a radio-frequency identification module coupled with an electrical antenna. The method comprises the following steps: a) depositing (E1) a thermosetting adhesive on an area of the textile backing, b) depositing (E2) said electrical antenna (12) on the adhesive layer; c) depositing (E3) said radio-frequency identification module on the antenna and the adhesive layer, the radio-frequency identification module being positioned so as to be coupled with the antenna and at least partially in contact with the adhesive layer; d) folding (E4) the textile backing so as to cover said antenna and said radio-frequency identification module; and e) hot-pressing (E5) the folded textile backing so as to embed at least partially the antenna and the radio-frequency identification module in the adhesive layer and polymerise at least partially said adhesive layer.

  • Publication number: 20150303576
Abstract: The present invention relates to a miniaturized patch antenna assembly in UHF frequency band. The invention is notably useful in RFID applications. The patch antenna assembly includes a multilayered dielectric substrate including at least a top layer, a middle layer and a bottom layer, an electrically conductive patch structure on the upper surface of the top layer, the patch structure having a center point located at the center of patch structure surface and a feeding point electrically coupled to a feed line, a ground plane on the lower surface of the bottom layer. The assembly can include a slot etched in the patch structure, the slot surrounding the center point of the patch structure. This slot aims to concentrate the surface current at the center of the patch structure, which allows reducing its size.

  • Publication number: 20060158311
Abstract: A system is disclosed for avoiding and/or minimizing coupling nulls between an electromagnetic field derived from one or more sources and a plurality of randomly oriented RFID tags. The plurality of tags is arranged to move relative to the filed such that no tag is persistently located in a coupling null relative to the field. The or each tag may be translated and/or rotated relative to the electromagnetic field. Alternatively, the electromagnetic field may be translated and/or rotated relative to the tags. In a further aspect coupling nulls may be avoided by orienting a main axis of the or each source of electromagnetic radiation obliquely relative to a direction of movement of the plurality of tags.
