  • Publication number: 20160170773
Abstract: A data processing network, a cluster controller, a data processing node, methods and computer program products are disclosed. The data processing network comprises: a cluster controller operable to store a plurality of configurations; and a cluster of data processing nodes, said cluster controller and said cluster of data processing nodes being operable to co-operate to make one of said plurality of configurations available as an allocated read-only configuration to each data processing node in said cluster, each data processing node being operable to boot-up using said configuration, said cluster controller and cluster of data processing nodes being further operable to co-operate to allocate a read/write storage area for each data processing node in said cluster for accessing data to be utilised during operation of that data processing node following boot-up.

  • Patent number: 9338150
Abstract: Methods of content-centric networking, a client, a server and a non-transitory computer-readable storage device storing a computer program product are disclosed. A method of establishing a secure session for transfer of a stream of data packets between a client and a server of a content-centric network is performed by exchanging information in such a way that the namespace of each data packet changes and is related to the previous data packets. The namespaces daisy-chain from one to the other, without the need for any additional authentication needing to take place between the two nodes when transferring a subsequent data packet. As long as both the client and the server derives the correct namespace for each subsequent data packet, it can be assumed that the session between the client and the server is still secure, which significantly improves performance while maintaining security.

  • Publication number: 20150007290
Abstract: A stimuli-response-driven authentication mechanism is implemented in a communication system including a user platform and a trusted external platform operably connected to an authentication platform. The authentication mechanism is implemented in an initialization phase and authentication phase. In the initialization phase, a user is exposed to a first set of external stimuli (e.g., image data) and data characterizing the user's physiological responses are obtained (in a high-security implementation, by the trusted external platform). In the authentication phase, the user is exposed to a second set of external stimuli (e.g., a subset of the first set) and data characterizing the user's physiological responses are obtained, and instances of the authentication data are compared to corresponding instances of the initialization data to authenticate the user.

  • Publication number: 20140152540
Abstract: Instead of controlling a computer by means of a hardware controller (e.g., keyboard, mouse, remote control, etc.), the present application provides systems and methods for a user to control a computer by performing certain body movements or postures (herein referred to as “gestures”) that are recognized by the computer and translated into computer commands.
