Abstract: A method for encoding an interlaced video comprising a sequence of alternating TOP and BOT fields is disclosed. The method for encoding comprises: producing a sequence of frames, each frame being determined from at least two consecutive fields, each field forming a rectangular region of the frame, encoding each frame of the sequence to produce an encoded video of the sequence of frames.

Abstract: The inventors realized that representing HDR content using LDR content and HDR residual is not unproblematic. The invention therefore proposes representing HDR content using LDR content, LDR residual and global illumination data, instead. That is, it is proposed a method of encoding an HDR video of high dynamic range together with an LDR video, the LDR video providing a lower dynamic range depiction of the HDR video content, the method comprising using processing means for encoding one video of the LDR video and a further LDR video extracted from the HDR video independent from the other video of the LDR video and the HDR video and predictive encoding the other video using the one video as reference, and lossless encoding global illumination data further extracted from the HDR video. This has the advantage that prediction is more stable and globally optimal predictors are more easily found.

Abstract: According to the compressed video data stream switching method for the transmission of a first data stream corresponding to a first video sequence, followed by, in a given switching point of this first stream, a second data stream corresponding to a second video sequence, the second data stream is modified prior to transmission, by a replacement of the bidirectional pictures with bidirectional commutation pictures of which the pictures blocks have a null residue and a null motion vector which is either forward or backward, according to the position of the blocks in the picture.

Abstract: A method and device for coding a video content a having sequence of pictures and at least one logo is provided. The method includes coding the sequence of pictures by a first coding method, where this step generates coded data relating to the sequence of pictures. The logo is coded by a second coding method and additional information relating to the logo, the additional information including at least information relating to the positioning of the logo in the pictures of the sequence, where this step generates coded data relating to the logo. A single data stream is generated and separately includes the coded data relating to the logo and the coded data relating to the sequence of pictures.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for displaying audiovisual sequences, typically advertisements, carried out by a device provided with means for the reception and recording of said sequences. A display scenario is sent to the device. Said scenario comprises groups of data made up of sequence identifiers and at least one time display window. Following the reception of a signal which typically announces an advertising spot, the device selects a sequence whose associated time display window includes the present moment and displays it. Usual behavior of the user is stored by the device which plans the display of said sequences when the user is not normally present during the planned time window. In an advanced form, the time window is broken down into periods and the scenario specifies a number of displays of the sequence during said period. The invention also relates to a device which can receive a scenario and run it in order to select sequences and display them according to the display method.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for navigation within a set of audiovisual documents in an audiovisual apparatus. At least one document is recorded previously in the apparatus. Next, the apparatus receives a command of association of at least one identifier with the recorded document. Finally, the apparatus receives navigation commands for navigating around the list of recorded documents, the identifier or identifiers associated with the document is automatically reproduced when this document is selected. The invention also relates to an apparatus able to execute a software navigation module for using the process. According to improvements, the identifier is a video sequence, an audio sequence, a text or a still image.
