    Abstract: An autonomous agricultural robot including: a control unit and treatment tools. The autonomous agricultural robot being characterised in that it includes a protective device. This protective device is configured to: measure characteristic quantities of so-called upstream crops, these crops being located upstream of the treatment tools; measure characteristic quantities of so-called downstream crops, these crops being located downstream of the treatment tools. The control unit being configured to: receive the measurements of the characteristic quantities of the upstream and downstream crops; perform a comparison of the measurements of the characteristic quantities of the same upstream and downstream crops; transmit a command for protecting the crop parcel to the autonomous agricultural robot when the comparison exceeds a predetermined threshold.
