Abstract: A carbonate ester of an aliphatic triol or tetraol which can be defined with the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R' and p are as defined in the description, is used as a lubricating base with a low quantity of smoke for two-phase engines with internal combustion.Lubricating compositions are described which contain a carbonate ester (1) together with one or more products selected from solvents, bright stock, or other anti-seizing additives, plus normal additives.

Abstract: A halogen lamp reflector assembly includes a ceramic material paraboloid light reflecting element having an inner surface which is coated by gold oxides so as to provide the inner surface with very high light reflecting properties, coaxially arranged with respect to the paraboloid element there being restrained a socket element for receiving the halogen lamp of the assembly.

Abstract: Organic esters, to be employed to make up lubricating compositions are disclosed, said esters being the products of the reaction between a diol and a triol, on the one hand, and a mixture of saturated monocarboxylic acids, on the other hand. The ratios of the diol to the triol (molarly) and the structure and number of carbon atoms of the saturated monocarboxylic acids are critical. Critical values are given, as well as examples of practical use; the viscosity and viscosity index properties of the novel esters out do those of the conventional esters to a degree.
