Abstract: The system features an assembly of components for each inlet and/or exhaust valve or set of valves that comprises a moving control finger inserted between the surface of the cam and a generously proportioned flat surface offered by the tappet or pushrod. Each such finger is capable of longitudinal movement between these two surfaces, engaging with them through lines of contact disposed parallel to the camshaft, whereas the center about which it rotates is made to describe a curved or flat trajectory, offset to one side from the cam and the flat surface.
