  • Publication number: 20230338889
Abstract: Disclosed are a facility and a method using the facility for treating a feed gas stream comprising at least methane and carbon dioxide by membrane permeation, the facility comprising: —a first membrane separation unit capable of receiving the feed gas stream and providing a first permeate and a first retentate, —a second membrane separation unit capable of receiving the first retentate and providing a second permeate and a second retentate, —a compressor for compressing the first permeate to a pressure of between 17 bar and 25 bar, —a means for cooling the first compressed permeate to a temperature lower than ?40° C.

  • Patent number: 11504668
Abstract: Facility and method for membrane permeation treatment of a feed gas stream containing at least methane and carbon dioxide including first, second, and third membrane separation units each including at least one membrane that is more permeable to carbon dioxide than to methane, wherein a permeate from the first membrane separation unit is fed to the third membrane separation unit and a retentate from the first membrane separation unit is fed to the second membrane separation unit. A compressor B adjusts the third-permeate suctioning pressure as a function of the feed gas stream pressure and the second retentate methane concentration.

  • Publication number: 20220297055
Abstract: Process and plant for membrane permeation treatment of a carbon dioxide and methane-containing biogas stream in which the biogas stream is compressed with a compressor and the compressed biogas stream is fed to a membrane separation unit comprising first and second modules each containing at least one membrane selective for carbon dioxide over methane. The first module separates the compressed biogas stream into a first, second, and third methane-deficient permeates (in comparison to the biogas stream) and a first methane-enriched retentate (in comparison to the biogas stream). The first permeate being richer in methane than the second or third permeates. The second module separates the first permeate into a fourth methane-deficient permeate and a second methane-enriched retentate. The second and third retentates are recycled back to an inlet of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 11351499
Abstract: At least some VOCs are removed from a feed gas in an adsorption unit comprising at least three adsorbers following a pressure cycle with a phase shift, wherein the feed gas comprises at least methane, carbon dioxide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The VOC depleted gas is fed to at least one membrane separation to produce a carbon dioxide-enriched permeate and a methane-enriched retentate. The flow of the feed gas stream is adjusted based upon one or both of a pressure or methane concentration of the gas stream entering the membrane separation unit and/or a pressure in the adsorption unit.

  • Patent number: 11219856
Abstract: Installation for membrane permeation treatment of feed gas flow containing at least methane and carbon dioxide including first, second, and third membrane separation units and at least one compressor B for aspirating the second permeate, a permeate from the first membrane separation unit being fed to the third membrane separation unit, a retentate from the first membrane separation unit being fed to the second membrane separation. After measuring the aspiration pressure and methane concentration of the second permeate before it is recycled to the feed, the pressure of the second permeate is adjusted according to the measured aspiration pressure and methane concentration.
