  • Patent number: 8257308
Abstract: The invention relates to a drug delivery device (1, 100), in particular for the delivery of drugs comprising molecules tending to spontaneously form nucleation seeds leading to fibrils, comprising a drug reservoir (2, 102) having a reservoir outlet (107) connected to a device outlet, adapted to deliver a drug fluid to a patient's body, through a pathway (5) including a fluid flow controlling system (4, 104). The pathway further includes a filtration module (6, 106) adapted to retain the nucleation seeds, preferably by forcing them through a filtering membrane pores and on the basis of hydrophobic interaction with the membrane.

  • Publication number: 20090326517
Abstract: An erosion-resistant capillary chip for use with in an infusion pump that is made from a silicon substrate having a first surface that includes a micro groove etched therein and a glass plate laminated to the first surface. The glass plate covers the micro groove so that a micro fluid conduit is created. The glass plate includes an inlet bore that connects with the micro fluid conduit and the silicon substrate includes an outlet bore that connects with the micro fluid conduit so that a drug solution entering the inlet bore from the infusion pump may pass through the micro fluid conduit at a restricted flow rate to the outlet bore and thereafter to a target site of a patient. The micro groove includes a passivation layer made from silicon nitride or silicon carbide that protects the micro groove against erosion from passing fluids having high basic or high acidic pH levels. A method for making the capillary chip is disclosed, as well as an infusion pump incorporating the improved capillary chip.

  • Patent number: 4760988
Abstract: The movable element of the slide structure is formed at the lower end of a side wall (30) and is bent into an S shape so as to define inside the fixed element two parallel box units (38, 40) in which two sets of rollers are movable, these rollers rolling in their upper part on one element and in their lower part on the other element, the elements being inverted for the two sets. Each roller is moreover carried by a ball (46, 52) which projects laterally and slides on the walls of the box unit, i.e. equally on one side of the fixer element and on the other side of the movable element. A slidable bolt locks the slide structure in the desired position.

  • Patent number: 4756576
Abstract: The seat structure comprises a seat framework (2) and a backrest framework (6) which are pivotally interconnected by a pivot pin (4) which is movable in a substantially vertical curved opening (40). The framework of the backrest is extended by tabs (34) which are connected in their lower part by a link (32) to an element pivotally mounted on a pin (18) which is movable in a vertical opening (20). Owing to the fact that the pin (18) is carried by the seat, the adjustments in height and in inclination are strictly independent.

  • Patent number: 4756207
Abstract: The motor-speed reducer comprises an elongated tubular case (1) in which is disposed a motor (2) provided with two coaxial output shafts extending in opposite directions (4 and 6). Mounted on the end of each output shaft is an end portion (24) of a housing (22) of a speed reducer (18, 20). The end portion of the shaft has a worm (8, 10) which is engaged with an input worm wheel (32) of the speed reducer. The two speed reducers are preferably similar. A cassette (42) including an end-of-travel device and rotation detectors is mounted in the case (1) around the output shaft (6).

  • Patent number: 4700587
Abstract: This device comprises a side wall (1) fixed to one of the elements and provided with a toothed ring (12) which is, at rest, engaged with a toothed ring (14) connected to a cup which is axially movable, under the action of a plate (26) carrying balls (46), along a control rod extending axially through the toothed ring (12) of the side wall. The cup (16) is extended by a gear pinion (18) engaged with the teeth of a bar (2) for connection to the second element so that the rotation of the pinion results in the rectilinear displacement of the bar (2).

  • Patent number: 4679850
Abstract: Two diametrically opposed orifices (4, 6) are provided in the framework tube of the backrest of the seat structure and receive the headrest support bar (1) which extends therethrough. A locking lug (10) projecting inside the tube extends into a notch in this bar and immobilizes it. The lug (10) is carried internally by a collar (12) which partly covers the tube (2) and extends round the upper orifice receiving the bar (1). A guide socket (24) is fitted into an opening (18) of the collar coaxially with the upper orifice (4).

  • Patent number: 4666210
Abstract: The device comprises inside a housing (14) a gear pinion (10) connected to rotate solely with a control rod (12) and engaged with a rack carried by a U-section rod (6) connected to the element to be displaced. A bolt (18), formed by two yokes which are pivotable relative to each other, comprises a set of teeth (20) engaged in the locking position with the rack and is retained in its lower part in the housing, so that the axial displacement of the control rod (12) folds it in its central part and releases the rack which can be displaced with the gear pinion. The bolt is resiliently biased to the locking position as soon as the pressure exerted by the rod (12) ceases.
