  • Publication number: 20210183028
Abstract: A system and method is provided for generating a tone mapping function to reduce dynamic range of a first image to produce a second image. A luma signal and a plurality of chroma components associated with the first and second image are then determined. A gamut color correction is then performed on the second image using an adaptive function. The adaptive function is generated by comparing said luma signal and at least one chroma component of said first and second image.

  • Patent number: 11024017
Abstract: A system and methods is provided for performing, by a processor, an initial tone mapping function on a first image to produce a second image. The first and second images are of different dynamic ranges. The method also includes applying, by the processor, a second tone mapping function to the second image when it contains any saturated portions. The second tone mapping function lowers luminance by a first fraction. The overall luminance of the second image is also determined and a fine tuning filter is applied when at least portions of said second image contain areas darker than an amount.

  • Patent number: 11006152
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for decoding at least one high dynamic range picture from a coded bitstream and a method and corresponding apparatus for coding the bitstream are disclosed. A standard dynamic range picture is decoded from the coded bitstream, a set of pivot points is decoded from the coded bitstream. The set of pivot points is representative of an adjustment function fadj. A predefined color correction function bp_default is selected. An adjusted color correction function badj is determined by 1/badj [?]=fadj [?]×(1/bp_default[?]), where ? is a luminance value. The high dynamic range picture is reconstructed from the decoded standard dynamic range picture and the adjusted color correction function badj.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for decoding at least one high dynamic range picture from a coded bistream, and a method and corresponding apparatus for coding said bitstream are disclosed. Said decoding method comprises decoding a standard dynamic range picture from said coded bistream, decoding a set of pivot points from said coded bistream, said set of pivot points being representative of an adjustment function fadj, selecting a predefined colour correction function bp_default, determining an adjusted colour correction function badj by 1/badj [?]=fadj [?]×(1/bp_default[?]), where ? is a luminance value, reconstructing the high dynamic range picture from the decoded standard dynamic range picture and the adjusted colour correction function badj.

  • Publication number: 20170324959
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for coding at least one high dynamic range picture into a coded bitstream, and corresponding decoding method and apparatus are disclosed. The encoding method includes selecting a predetermined post-processing color correction function bp_det among a set of predetermined post-processing color correction functions bpset, according to at least one parameter computed from at least said high dynamic range picture, determining a pre-processing color correction function b0 from the selected predetermined post-processing color correction function bp_det, decomposing the high dynamic range picture, into a standard dynamic range picture, using the pre-processing color correction function b0, coding the standard dynamic range picture into the coded bitstream, coding at least one parameter for reconstructing the high dynamic range picture from the standard dynamic range picture decoded from the coded bitstream and a post-processing color correction function bp_dec.

  • Patent number: 5308707
Abstract: The process with a view to imparting to the treated article a resistance to frictional wear, a corrosion resistance, and a color, is characterized according to the invention in that the surface of the article is subjected to a thermochemical pretreatment under electric plasma in a vessel under an atmosphere containing reactive species such as N.sub.2 and hydrogen, the reactive species diffusing into and precipitating in the metal matrix of the article to form a diffusion sublayer and in that a layer of carbon in vapor phase is deposited under electric plasma on the surface thus treated, in the same vessel, the composition of the atmosphere for the pretreatment being gradually modified, on the one hand, by the introduction of a hydrocarbon and/or of a silane in the gaseous state and, on the other hand, by progressive reduction of the partial pressures of the reactive species employed during the pretreatment, and the maintenance of the hydrocarbon atmosphere for the carbon deposition.
