  • Patent number: 7677358
Abstract: The invention relates to a thin sound absorbing multi-layer assembly, which is intended, in particular, to reduce interior or exterior noise of a motor vehicle. The assembly according to the invention comprises at least three stacked layers consisting respectively of: a first layer (4) being impervious and having an area weight of between (20) to (100 g/m2); a second layer (3) having an air flow resistance of between (250) to (2500 Ns/m3) and an area weight of between (15) to (250 g/m2); a third layer (2) being an open pored, acoustic spring type layer having a thickness of between (2) to (30 mm) and an area weight of between (50) to (1000 g/m2).

  • Patent number: 6813840
Abstract: The device comprises a target member (4) and a support (1) for supporting the target member. The support includes a receptacle head (12) for the target member, including a housing (15) open to the outside via an outwardly flared frustoconical seat (16). The target member includes a flange (42) having a spherical annular lateral surface adapted to bear tangentially against the seat (16), and a plate (45) upstanding perpendicularly on the flange in an equatorial plane an imaginary sphere (44) of which the lateral surface of the spherical annular flange is part. The plate has two parallel plane retroreflecting faces and a hole (46) passing completely through it and centered on an axis perpendicular to the faces of the plate and passing through the center of the spherical surface, and the hole is open at both ends via a bevel (461).

  • Patent number: 6455022
Abstract: Aqueous alkali metal chloride solutions, typically destined for electrolysis for the production of chlorine and containing a contaminating amount of iodine values in other than the periodate state, are purified by oxidizing the iodine values therein to the periodate oxidation state of +7 and then separating such periodate values therefrom. The starting alkali metal chloride solutions may also contain contaminating amounts of ammonium values, which in turn are oxidized, preferably simultaneously, to molecular nitrogen and degassed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6352625
Abstract: The invention relates to a specific cathode comprising a substrate made of an element chosen from the group formed by titanium, nickel, tantalum, zirconium, niobium and alloys thereof, the said substrate being coated with an interlayer of a mixed oxide based on titanium and on ruthenium and with an external layer of metal oxides comprising titanium, zirconium and ruthenium. The subject of the invention is also its manufacturing process and its applications in electrolysis.

  • Patent number: 5885462
Abstract: The process consists in passing the liquid to be purified and a superabsorbent, preferably of polyacrylic type, through a column, the upward speed of the liquid being chosen such that, in the column, the superabsorbent which is merely swollen is in a stationary dynamics regime, whereas the superabsorbent laden with polyvalent ions settles at the bottom of the column. Application to the treatment of the aqueous rinses of articles which have undergone a nickel-plating treatment.
