Abstract: In a method for harvesting fruits, berries and the like by means of shaker members and in particular for gathering grapes in whole bunches, the shaker members are subjected to a succession of motion stages comprising a high-speed stage, a practically zero speed stage at least at one end of travel of the shaker members and an intermediate stage having a high speed gradient. The speed in the high-speed stage is at least 2 m/s, the time-duration of the practically zero speed stage is at least 30 ms and the speed gradient in the intermediate stage is at least 200 m/s.sup.2.

Abstract: A hydraulic motor of variable cubic capacity with retractable partitions sed in radial grooves in a rotor. The partitions are each integral with a guide pin trapped in an endless cam groove of approximately ovoid shape in a surface stator. The partitions also pass through radial grooves in a sleeve housed in a circular groove in the rotor in order to slide therein parallel to the axis of the motor. A reaction member passes through an aperture in the stator in order to remain in frictional contact with an end surface of the sleeve. The driving force comes from oil pressure in a circular groove defined between the end surface of the sleeve and the surface of the stator. The sleeve and reaction member slide jointly.

Abstract: A bed of fluidized material is used to separate seeds on the basis of specific gravity. The bed may be a rotating annulus and it may have one or more layers of micro-balls at the bottom. Means for rotating the annulus and various discharge means are disclosed.
