Abstract: A system and method for data loading in a vehicle is disclosed. The system comprises a cabin gateway onboard the vehicle, with the gateway including a data load software application module; an onboard switch and storage unit in operative communication with the gateway; and an onboard vehicle electronics unit in operative communication with the switch and storage unit. The gateway is configured to communicate with one or more wide area networks, and is configured to communicate with a portable device and a secure ground portal. The gateway is operative to initiate a remote transfer of data from one or more ground servers through the one or more wide area networks to the vehicle, and to store the data onboard the vehicle. The data load software application module in the gateway includes instructions, executable by a processor, for loading the stored data into the vehicle electronics unit.

Abstract: A method for aggregating usage of broadband communications channels for an in-flight aircraft has been developed. First, wireless communication channel links are established between a network router and passengers on board the in-flight aircraft. Multiple communications channels are bonded together in a group by the router. Threshold parameters for the bonded group are set up based on the bandwidth requirements for priority passengers. These bandwidth requirements for priority passengers are continuously monitored. Communications channels are removed and added from the bonded group as needed to meet the bandwidth requirements for the priority passengers.

Abstract: The embodiments described herein provide methods and device for encapsulating a packet in an envelope appertaining to the determined channel and/or to the determined link and in transmitting the envelope with the packet destined for a server which executes an extraction of the data packet from its envelope and forwards it finally on a link to the destination communication part. These embodiments finds application in communication system incorporating routers, and especially routers installed on systems embedded aboard vehicles of all sorts but also on objects incorporating a communication part for an inter-object data communications system.
