  • Patent number: 5501825
Abstract: Process for the manufacture of a shaped ski in a single step, which includes:in laying down, in the bottom of a mold, at least one lower reinforcing layer (13, 14);in positioning, on this lower assembly (10), an upper reinforcing layer (22) composed of mechanization elements;in placing, on this upper reinforcing layer (22), a protective and decorative layer (21);in closing the cover of the mold;in injecting, between the lower assembly (10) and upper assembly (22), a fluid intended to expand the various elements against the walls;wherein, in the region of the upper reinforcing layer (22), at least one additional element (30) is positioned, said additional element being intended to vary the relative position of the mechanization elements of said reinforcing layer (22) with respect to the faces of the ski.

  • Patent number: 5498016
Abstract: This invention relates to a ski incorporating an injected core and to a process for manufacturing such a ski. The ski includes an internal reinforcement of perforated, reinforced fabric which is short, located at the level of the runner, in the form of an upturned gutter and which is separated from the upper face of the ski by distance pieces in the form of beads of hot melt adhesive. When manufacturing in the mould, these beads enable the reinforcement to be pre-positioned whilst maintaining it at a distance from the upper face.

  • Patent number: 5186777
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a composite molded structure including the steps of: depositing first and second members in a mold; inserting at least one flexible plastic membrane between the first and second members so as to form a sheath when the mold is closed; closing the mold; injecting into the sheath reactants intended to react to form a foam which expands in situ and stretches the sheath until it forces the members flat against the walls of the mold; cooling the contents of the mold; and opening the mold to withdraw the composite molded structure.

  • Patent number: 5088755
Abstract: This snow ski, the sides of which have an inclination which is variable in relation to the plane of the sole of the ski, at different points along its length, and are constituted by curved convex or concave lines, in which the profiles of the sides are of variable curvature according to the cross-section in question of the ski.A procedure for manufacturing this ski consists, starting from a rough ski, in carrying out the machining of the lateral parts of the ski with the aid of a rotary tool with an axis perpendicular to the plane of the upper surface of the ski, the active surface of which is generated by a continuous monotonic curve, by carrying out a relative movement of the tool and of the ski simultaneously, in the direction of the length of the ski, in the direction of the width of the ski and in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the upper surface of the ski.

  • Patent number: 4913455
Abstract: A device for fastening a boot to a cross-country ski including a stirrup having a central part articulated on a pin transverse to the ski, and branches shaped to allow fitting of a complementary part made at the front end of the boot. The stirrup is equipped with structure for immobilizing the front end of the boot, which consist of a locking lever mounted to pivot on the stirrup around a pin transverse to the ski, a catch mounted to pivot on the locking lever around a pin crosswise to the ski, comprising two fingers coming in contact with the front edges of the stirrup forming control ramps of the position of the lever, and an elastic element placed between the stirrup and the lever and acting on the latter in the closing direction, in a plane passing approximately through the pin for articulation of the catch on the lever and on both sides of which are points of contact between the catch and stirrup, respectively in an opening position and in a closing position.

  • Patent number: 4714267
Abstract: A cross country ski assembly in which the ski has a trapezoidal ridge over at least the greater part of its length over which the longitudinal groove in the sole of a ski-boot casing can fit. The ski-boot casing is articulated to the ski directly or indirectly via a pivot axis located below the upper surface of the ridge.

  • Patent number: 4705815
Abstract: An antibackslide treatment for a cross-country ski consists of a polyurethane containing a filler or closed-pore structure and which combined hydrophobicity with an elastic character which varies depending upon the velocity of its deformation. During the propulsion phase where the velocity of deformation is low, the treatment has viscoelastic characteristics whereas during the sliding phase when the velocity of deformation is high, the treatment has more elastic properties.
