  • Publication number: 20150056924
Abstract: A post-accident network probe and a method of using such a probe are disclosed. The probe is configured to be deployed in a confined environment (e.g. an underground mine), typically after an accident has occurred, in order to establish a connection with the wireless network, or a portion thereof, located therein. The probe generally allows the rescuers to determine the position of potentially trapped miners and can allow the rescuers to have access to environment-related information collected by the network, to get vital signs information, and/or to communicate with the trapped miners. The probe can be deployed using different access methods such as bore holes (existing or new), ventilation shafts, preventive installations of probes, etc. Notably, since the probe establishes a connection with the network, the location of the probe does not have to be exactly where the miners are located as long as the miners are tracked by the network.

  • Patent number: 5419591
Abstract: A multi-ply courier waybill comprises a plurality of data plies connected along et least one marginal edge to an underlying backing ply having a pressure sensitive adhesive applied to the undersurface thereof for attachment to a package to be shipped. The backing ply includes a plurality of die cut labels formed over a portion thereof spaced inwardly from the marginal edges of the backing ply, and the pressure sensitive adhesive is covered by a release liner. Removal of the release liner from the surface of the adhesive will result in removal of the die cut labels from the backing ply. At least some of the data plies and the die cut labels ere provided with common bar code indicia. The labels are applied to satellite packages so that only one waybill can accommodate a number of packages sent to the same addressee.

  • Patent number: 5330613
Abstract: A method of making an electrical connection includes forming in a pattern a plurality of electrically conductive elements on a first piece, forming another plurality of the electrically conductive elements on a second piece in the pattern, applying a layer of duroplastic resin capable of hardening and becoming conductive upon heating over the pattern of the elements of the first piece, heating the elements of the second piece, and placing the second piece against the resin with the heated electrically conductive elements of the second piece in juxtaposition with the elements of the first piece, thereby bonding the elements of the two pieces with the hardened and electrically conductive portions of the resins therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4517356
Abstract: A method of polymerizing a thermosetting resin such as an epoxy resin charged with silver particles in which shaped bodies of the resin are brought cold into contact with vapor of an organic liquid boiling at a temperature of above 100.degree. C. so that a condensate from this liquid forms on the bodies in temperature equilibrium so that the heat of vaporization is transferred upon such condensation rapidly to the bodies and the latter are polymerized rapidly under the constant temperature and pressure conditions.
