  • Patent number: 4900272
Abstract: A contact frame for an IC card reader including, in particular, guide means for guiding or positioning the card, together with contact elements for providing electrical connection with conducting pads on the IC card via which circuits are established to the apparatus including the IC card reader, the contact frame being characterized by the fact that it comprises an inner frame (7) of insulating material molded over the contact elements (4) for providing electrical connection to the IC card, and two extensions (17, 18) extending the substance of the inner frame (7) sideways towards the side edges of the card and beyond said edges, each of said two extensions carrying means (6, 19, 20) for defining the positions of two card-guiding slideways (21, 22).

  • Patent number: 4644520
Abstract: A protected optical disk of welded construction comprises a housing the diameter of which is its largest dimension. The housing consists of parts fabricated from a thermoplastic material joined together by at least one circular weld which occupies part of a plane annular joining area perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the disk. An internal chamber is bordered radially by this joining area. An information carrying layer is contained in this chamber. A pair of grooves lies one on either side of the portion of each of the parts included in the weld and there is a circularly disposed sharp edged projection between the grooves of each pair. In this way the grooves and the projection form a weld preform on at least one joining surface of the parts.

  • Patent number: 4588369
Abstract: A disk which carries information obtained by molding from a cut matrix is detached from the matrix by means of a gas jet injected between the disk and the cut matrix. The disk is maintained in contact with the matrix both at the periphery and at the center, means being also provided for limiting deformation of the disk while it is being removed.

  • Patent number: 4564932
Abstract: A protected optical disk for recording information is fabricated by a method whereby at least one cover is rigidly fixed by a welding to an optical disk having at least one layer of recording material which can be both written and read optically. At least two joints are thus formed by welding, each joint being constituted by at least two weld zones each located respectively within a concentric ring.

  • Patent number: 4551733
Abstract: A protected optical disc adapted for optical recording and playback of information (particularly digital recording) with a rigid element carrying the recording surface, and a flexible element permeable to optical radiation, one of these two elements having the shape of a dish. At least one of the elements is provided with a central hole for receiving a driving shaft, with the joined annular portion or portions of the two elements concentric with the central hole.

  • Patent number: 4536868
Abstract: The invention relates to protected optical disk structures. The invention relates placing the sensitive layer on a substrate, which is only joined to the other elements constituting the box by a single fixing area, located in the central part of said box, in order that deformations of the box do not affect the smoothness and flatness of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4452748
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for obtaining information-carrying disks by moulding from a recorded matrix. The invention makes it possible to obtain a disk having a recording area and intact areas, which are separated by stop areas. The invention more particularly applies to the production of video disks and disks useable in information technology. It facilitates the installation of covers on the disks.

  • Patent number: 4312009
Abstract: A device for projecting ink droplets through a set of projection holes to print a pattern under selective electrical or light pulse control.A first plate formed with a large number of holes is placed in close proximity to the surface of the printing medium. A second plate a small distance from the first defines therewith a chamber in which the ink is locally heated by electrical current controlled by light selectively impinging on a photoconductive part of said second plate in register with each hole or each group of holes so as to form a pattern with constant or variable parts.
