    Abstract: A damping device for a shaft in rotation around an axis of rotation parallel to a direction (A). The said damping device includes a support, a plate, a collar, and clamping means. The said support is stationary and is provided with a first opening, with the said plate being provided with a second opening and the said collar being provided with a third opening. The said shaft passes simultaneously through the said first, second, and third openings with, respectively, a first radial gap, a second radial gap, and a third radial gap, with the said third radial gap being smaller than the said first and second radial gaps. The said collar is movable with respect to the said support in a plane perpendicular to the said direction (A), with the said clamping means pressing the said plate against the said collar and the said collar against the said support.

    Abstract: An electrically insulated conductor connection assembly and a method for providing the same are provided. The electrically insulated conductor connection assembly includes first and second electrical conductors each comprising a body portion and an end portion. A fastening mechanism electrically and mechanically connects the end portions of the first electrical conductor to the end portion of the second electrical conductor, and an insulator overlays and electrically insulates the fastening mechanism. The end portions of the first and second electrical conductors and the fastening mechanism form a joint, which is structured to be fastenable and unfastenable. When the joint is fastened and the insulator is overlaying the fastening mechanism, the joint is electrically insulated.

    Abstract: Fuses for the potential transformers (PTs) in medium voltage switchgear are mounted in fuse assemblies which are reciprocated within the switchgear enclosure independently of the transformers they protect between a connected position in which the fuse assemblies engage stabs at the rear wall of the enclosure and a retracted position adjacent a door at the front of the enclosure through which the fuses are inserted and removed while the fuse assemblies remain within the enclosure. The fuse assemblies include insulative tubes having first releasable contacts at a distal end which engage the stabs and second releasable contacts which engage fixed contacts connected to the transformers and spaced from the rear wall. The insulative tubes are mounted on a carriage which reciprocates between the connected and retracted positions. An interlock prevents opening of the door except where the carriage is in the retracted position and blocks movement of the carriage with the door open.

    Abstract: Switchgear with a closing spring release and an opening release accessible from a front face is further provided with top mounted closing and opening spring releases. In order to avoid interference with internal parts of the switchgear and to follow the movement of the trip mechanisms to which they are connected, these top mounted spring releases are flexible elongated members preferably in the form of flat stainless spring steel straps. The flat strap of the top mounted opening spring release has a slot engaging the opening trip lever and is sized so as not to engage the trip lever when the front accessible spring release is otherwise actuated. As the horizontal pivot axis of the closing spring trip lever moves transversely, the flat strap of the top mounted closing spring release is oriented to bend in the same direction while the lower end section is twisted 90.degree. to receive a coupling pin on the trip lever.
