  • Patent number: 5226258
Abstract: Watertight section for the frame of a movable window of a vehicle, namely an automobile, formed from a resilient material (6) in which is embedded a metal frame (5) includes two adjoining inverted U-shaped parts, one (1) known as a clip, intended to cap a protruding rim (3) of the window frame, while the second U-shaped part (4) known as a runner, is intended to guide and receive the peripheral portion of the movable window in its closed position. The frame (5) of the U-shaped arm of the runner that is intended to be placed facing the exterior of the vehicle juts out laterally from the resilient material and curves toward the outside of this arm, while at the base of this same arm, the resilient material forms a boss (9) below the base of the U, so that a C-shaped ornament (8) can be fastened at right angles onto the section by means of a clip on the above mentioned boss (9) and on the curved protruding part (11) of the frame.

  • Patent number: 4982529
Abstract: The invention relates to a profile for a seal comprising a metal reinforcement having a U-shaped cross-section. The reinforcement is sheathed with plastic. At least one virtually inextensible filament is embedded in the plastic in an intermediate zone between the profile and an associated sealing element in the region of the median fiber of the profile. According to the invention, the metal reinforcement is formed by bending a planar reinforcement into the shape of a U. The planar reinforcement comprises a succession of exposed rectangular elements having long sides perpendicular to the plane of symmetry of the U and short sides parallel to this plane of symmetry. The rectangular elements are joined to the contiguous elements by two spacers parallel to the plane of symmetry of the U.

  • Patent number: 4843763
Abstract: The seal and guide includes two portions which are connected by an elastomeric hinge. One of the portions is a fixation member which attaches to the flange on the frame of an automobile. The other portion includes a guiding and sealing channel which receives a movable window. Due to the elastomeric hinge, the guiding and sealing channel is allowed to flex so as to compensate for irregularities in the shape of the door frame. In this manner, the window may be easily moved and properly sealed on a variety of door frames.

  • Patent number: 4535563
Abstract: The seal comprises a first portion mounted to at least a part of the inner peripheral edge of the window opening. The first portion includes a flexible body, a first magnetic element received in the flexible body, and a flexible sealing member. A second portion is mounted to at least a part of the outer peripheral edge of the window in a position to face the first portion and to contact the flexible sealing member when the window is closed. The second portion includes a casing member, and a second magnetic element received in the casing member. Flocking is connected to at least one of the first and second portions. The flocking is positioned between the contacting area of said first and second portions when said window is closed.
